Until now, JAST USA’s Boys Love imprint has been synonymous with NITRO CHiRAL, with all of its previous titles – sweet pool, Togainu no Chi -Lost Blood-, DRAMAtical Murder, and Slow Damage coming from the publisher. All that is set to change with its upcoming release, Sorcerer’s Choice: Angel or Demon?, which comes from publisher Varenyett and features beautiful artwork and accomplished voice acting.
When Lucil’s home is attacked by a violent mob, his grandfather teleports him to safety. Burned and battered, Lucil is aware of two beings standing over him: one of Light, and one of Darkness. Which hand will he take? What fate awaits him when he chooses?

I’m heartened to see the excitement following the announcement of Sorcerer’s Choice. There are many great BL titles beyond the few already known outside Japan, and I’m glad to have played a part in bringing another to the English-speaking audience. I did my best to faithfully capture Varenyett’s story and characters with my work, so I hope fans will enjoy the world they created.
Lucil is voiced by Aoba Nanami, the angel Flow by Kyousai Nanoka, and the demon Lobelia by Sawa Manaka — better known as DRAMAtical Murder’s Clear. The scenario is by Chitose Rima, Nishio Tooru, Sakamata Shigeru, and Yukie Yuta, with character design, art, and planning by Nishio Tooru (who has been kind enough to retweet a lot of JAST BLUE’s posts about the game and create some gorgeous art with the English title).
The two potential romances of Sorcerer’s Choice: Angel or Demon? couldn’t be more different. The manipulative demon Lobelia is forthright in his desires: he wants to enter a covenant with Lucil and have unlimited access to the young sorcerer’s body. This route is steaming hot, with a surprising amount of genuine emotion creeping in between the two as time progresses. Can Lucil maintain his sanity under the onslaught of such pleasure?
If Lucil chooses to go with Light and spend time with the eccentric angel Flow, the story is a delicate romance with high stakes: will falling in love with Lucil cause Flow to fall from Heaven’s grace? Can the pair of them successfully find a cure to the plague ravaging the local town? And who is the strange traveler Larva, come seeking medical aid…?
Good and bad endings abound, each one offering a satisfactory conclusion to Lucil’s story. Play the game for yourself and see what your favorite is!
JAST USA was responsible for the first translation of a Boys Love novel into English, with the title Enzai – Falsely Accused, and hopes to continue this tradition for many years to come.
