Since our founding in 1997, JAST USA has worked to make localized visual novels and related games from Japan available to fans all over the world, with full English translations and uncensored game content. Here’s are some product details on the upcoming release of the much-anticipated release of Majikoi! Love Me Seriously!
What is Majikoi? It’s one of the most popular visual novels from Minato Soft, and a title fans have been requesting that we license for years. We were finally able to sign a contract with the company and start work on the official localization on the game in 2017, and after many years of waiting, we’ll finally be releasing the game on December 25, 2020!
(Specifically, customers who have preordered the physical package by that date will receive download codes to begin playing the game. We’ll start shipping the physical limited editions of the game soon after. Digital sales preordered through the JAST USA site will also ship at this time.)
Will Majikoi be 100% Uncensored?
We’re happy to report that the official JAST USA release of Majikoi! Love Me Seriously! will be 100% uncensored, with all 18+ game images being fully detailed and free of Japanese mosaic.
Has Any Material in Majikoi Been Altered from the Original?
No, no part of the game has been censored or removed, other than to translate it and remove the mosaics.

The good news is that all the major characters are fully voiced in the upcoming official English release including all members of the “Kazama family,” which are the following:

Why Aren’t All the Characters Voiced in the Official English Release?
In the visual novel industry — but oddly not in anime — there’s a tradition that whenever a new version of a game is released, such as moving from PC to PS3, or PS3 to PS4, or even from Windows 8 to Windows 10, the seiyu voice recordings must be re-licensed for each new edition from the voice actor talent agency who owns the copyrights. This applies to official English releases like the upcoming release of Majikoi!
Unfortuanately, due to licensing challenges with the copyright holders of the voice actor tracks, not all of the original voices were able to be added to the official international release. There were many reasons, including the fact that some voice actors have left that talent agency or exited the industry, or are no longer living. Happily, the voices for all the core characters you know and love are present in the game.
(The notification that only a subset of game characters would be included in the official English release was included on our product pages from the launch of preorders several months ago.)
What If I Want a Refund On My Majikoi Limited Edition Preorder?
We’ve had preorders for the upcoming limited edition for Majikoi! open for several months, and have pre-sold most of the copies that will be available. When all the copies of the limited edition sell out, the game will be available digitally only from JAST USA’s website, and from Steam.
Any customers wishing for a refund of the Limited Edition should open a ticket to J-List and we’ll cheerfully issue one. Please understand this means the remaining copies will probably be sold out if you change your mind later.
