Domination Lost and Found in Iyapan Returns

Are you a fan of the bondage genre of hentai? Does shibari (bondage) twist you into knots as your excitement soars? That’s the regular scenario Iyapan Returns uses before it throws its usual twist on the twist with its payoff of panties and a disgusted expression.

The twist on a bondage session is “domination-loss.” It’s a popular enough plot point that it has its own tag in all those sites that I never visit (cough). In Iyapan Returns, Episode 6, Saki Kurose allows her masochist partner to tie her up instead of the usual reluctance we find in many hentai doujins. The shibari ropes on her skin started to awaken her hidden masochistic desires. Unfortunately, the POV protagonist stopped her from flipping her M-switch all the way. However, her panty-reveal exposed another side of her character.

Peel Away Black Leather, Find White, Juicy Center!

Dominatrices have a uniform, you know. So, Iyapan Returns played by the rules. Yes, it’s black, functional lingerie, designed to let them swing their arms around and keep their whipping hands strong. Saki wore the usual black and knew how to snap her riding crop. But her botched role reversal confirmed her inner masochist. She wore virginal, white cotton panties! We should expect a mistress with a riding crop to wear a dark or black satin thong. The white fabric symbolizes purity, which contrasts entertainingly with black, domineering leather.

Mr. M and Saki could have flipped each other’s S-M switches all night long. But alas. The curtains closed on the Iyapan Returns season with its twisted twist.

Iyapan’s Twisted Twist on Domination-Loss

Iyapan’s formula still holds. First, set up a conventional scenario. Okay, a bondage session might not be “conventional,” but you’re reading the J-List Blog, so let’s call that normal. Second, serve up the twist. Here, the dominatrix becomes the dominated. Again, that’s a “conventional” twist for the hentai genre. But then comes 40hara’s twist on that twist to deliver his ultimate kink. The Iyapan POV protagonist never gave up his M-status. He only wanted to see his mistress show her panties while tied up in red shibari ropes. Mr. M returned the domination-loss tag so he could grovel on the floor, staring up at Saki’s white panties while she wore a look of disgust.

I wonder how their next bondage session will play out. Will Saki have extra frustration to work out on him? That would surely please Mr. M!

Iyapan Returns Makes Me Say Heh.

I’m glad Iyapan is back on the small screen! The long delay between anime adaptations due to a civil suit against the producer of the first two seasons only whetted my appetite for more. Meanwhile, 40hara kept himself busy publishing more volumes of Iyapan doujin books, so we have plenty of other girls awaiting viewers in future seasons.

I hope for more panties, paired with disgusted looks, delivered on a faster cadence. With UWAN Pictures handling animation and production in-house, instead of relying on external production companies (or swindlers running off with the advance), Iyapan stands on much surer footing. Iyapan Returns was the perfect title for both fans and creators.
