Halloween Cos That Goes “Doki-Doki” In the Night

At its core, Halloween isn’t inherently religious or pagan; it’s simply a moment of cultural unity for humanity. Stuck behind our phones and chained to our desks, many of us have developed a cynicism toward holidays that only heightens our sense of isolation and loneliness.
Halloween is about imagination. Pretending, for a moment, that you can walk up to a stranger’s house and receive gifts rather than an unfriendly glare from an Amazon Ring. It’s about shedding our dreary day-to-day guise for something fantastical, something other, just for a single night.

Original Halloween Cosplay
Famous poet and OG queer icon Oscar Wilde famously said, “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” Unfortunately, he didn’t know what awaited us in the 21st century, and arguably didn’t intend Logan Paul to follow that advice. Putting aside the horrors of TikTok socialites, I think Wilde has a point: Why pretend to be someone else, when you can embrace your own unique originality?
Some of the best cosplay we’ve seen in the lead-up to Halloween are original characters or unique twists on myths and fantasy. After all, the scariest thing this Halloween isn’t getting a basketful of candy corn, but missing out on dressing up with your friends and having a good time!
