Koushi and Takane attend a university’s open house, but the future preoccupies Takane.
Episode 7 — “Even That Which Isn’t Visible from There”
Takamine-san Makes Me Go Hmm.
What if Takane Takamine-san had always been an airhead without a time loop skill to change her mistakes? Takamine-san, episode 7, showed us how a clumsy, moe Takane would fare during a typical day. Takane’s imperious attitude remained, but she was too flustered to remember she could rewind her mistakes. Was she like this before she acquired her ability? Was Koushi familiar with Takane’s proud demeanor covering for slightly embarrassing awkwardness? He certainly had a reflex for saving her from shame. But before we could explore how stressed out Takane was about a future without Koushi nearby, Takamine-san threw in a conventional rom-com curveball.
Dramatic and romantic tension keeps an audience coming back each week to see their favorite characters engage in the back-and-forth of the will-they-won’t-they dynamic in situational comedies. We see how wrenches thrown into relationship progress can be taken to ridiculous heights in anime like Rent-A-Girlfriend or Girlfriend, Girlfriend. Did Takamine-san need to prolong our wait for Takane to confess her feelings and the truth about her past with Koushi? Obviously, yes. A serial manga, after it gets the green light to continue past its initial contract, must string the readers along for enough pages to fill another collected volume. I blame the editors rather than the mangaka.
So, instead of Takamine-san telling the story of Koushi and Takane’s past through an emotionally fulfilling romantic progression, we get chaos. Thanks, I hate it. The insecure Koushi almost pushed through his self-esteem issues with Takane. Now, he has another hurdle with another beautiful childhood friend. Oh, the drama!
Heh.

It’s still summer vacation, so Takane is still Koushi’s summer girlfriend, except he doesn’t know it. Takane asked Koushi to go to a university’s open house over the weekend. Ah. What a convenient time to ask about your summer boyfriend’s life goals. Whatever it is, Koushi’s plans must include following Takane for the rest of her life, carrying underwear. Enough of that. Look at what Takane bought. This is how you ask your man for a date: show him the lingerie you plan to wear! Takamine-san shows you how wild women’s choices for filmy fabric can be. Har. She blamed Koushi for randomly choosing the open-slit bra and crotchless panty set with his eyes closed.

I approve of this inspired circumstantial censorship! Hohoho. Takamine-san knows about JAV genres. Koushi needs to accompany Takane to protect her from joining the wrong college circle. Whoops! Kuro is Koushi’s wingcat! The black cat pushed a double eyeful of pussy action!
Takamine-san Goes to College

The weekend university tour date begins. Takane draws lustful looks from every male gaze. She reminds Koushi that he had better follow her to college, or she’ll replace undergarments in lecture halls by herself. We can’t have that, can we? Why does Takane know the JAV blackmail genre so well? Hmph. Takamine-san’s vignette at the university is a tsukkomi act between Koushi and Takane, with Koushi as the straight man.

Uh oh. Koushi flummoxed Takane after he told her he planned on working after high school instead of attending university. He doesn’t want to strain his family’s financial situation because his little sister will attend a private high school, and Koushi doesn’t want to waste money on college if he has no particular direction. How mature! But Takane would prefer him to work part-time so he can still perform his traveling closet duties.

Finally! I wondered when Takane would use Eternal Virgin Road in this Takamine-san episode. She improved her public impression by rephrasing a question, similar to how she waited for a breeze during a passage recitation in class. Now, we get to the thrill of public indecency and avoiding detection. Takane is a perfectionist, so her closet should aim for perfection in sliding her panties up her thighs.

Aw. Takane worries about not seeing Koushi if he doesn’t attend college with her. Her solution? Give him all the eye candy and more until they separate.

The Takamine-san intermission interstitials keep showing us what Takane wears underneath her sexy outfits.
The Airheaded Version of Takamine-san

Summer vacation isn’t over yet, but the kids still have a mandatory assembly. Takane is loopy! She used every clumsy girl mechanic on the way to school! Her bag hiked up her skirt to flash her panties behind her. Koushi can’t hide that like he did her bare butt on a bicycle in Takamine-san, episode 2. Takane (using her tsundere attitude) claimed she did all these clumsy things on purpose, but even Koushi didn’t believe her. She only put on one sock and couldn’t get her transit pass to work. And she forgot to wear a bra! Koushi still believes Takane’s story that whoever sees her bare breasts remembers the redone timeline. I’m still skeptical about that. He protected her modesty, at the very least. Oh, at last. She redid the whole day.

After that, Koushi enrolled in a cram school to prepare for the entrance exam for that elite university. And he met a wrench thrown into Takamine-san’s straightforward rom-com: another childhood friend who became a beauty! She calls him “Kou-chan.”
Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san (Please Put Them On, Takamine-san) streams the “least-censored web version” on Crunchyroll in English audio and subtitles in multiple languages. These recaps and reviews will feature the most “cultured” broadcast version.
Did you enjoy watching Takane act like an airhead with a superiority complex? Adorable! Or would you prefer to see Takane rise to the top of the JAV industry? She’s a perfectionist, you know. What genre would best fit her? Gangbang NTR or blackmail moral degeneration? Let us know in the comments below!
