Every newbie looking for pervy anime recommendations will run into shows like High School DxD, To Love Ru, and Food Wars. But weeblets need to know that ecchi anime is still thriving! And that’s what the J-List Blog is here for! So, if you’re looking for more recent perviness with a huge dose of the kawaii art styles that are prevalent in modern anime, this is the list for you!
Interspecies Reviewers — What I’d Be Doing If I Got Isekaied
When a show can boast that its simulcast got canceled because it was obscene, you know it’s a cut above the rest. Regardless of what you’ve heard about Interspecies Reviewers, I can assure you — it’s far more outlandish. Thinking that sex work is something relegated to the impoverished, needy, and trafficked is a sign of mental impairment. No matter how you feel about it, people enjoy sex work. At its core, that’s what this modern ecchi anime is about.
Interspecies Reviewers is all about sexual positivity and follows a band of adventurers, one of whom is a hermaphroditic angel. Getting laid is fun — if you disagree, you’re doing it wrong (or you’re asexual). Few shows depict the joys of sleeping around better than Ishuzoku Reviewers. While its plot — which revolves around visiting different brothels and rating how enjoyable sex is with various species — may seem repetitive, it’s anything but.
A comedy-heavy series, this ecchi anime excels at positively representing sex workers and those who pay for their services. Be it taking on a horde of sex-crazed demons, playing with a bird-girl’s cloaca, or getting banged when you’re magically transformed into a girl, Interspecies Reviewers does it.
You’ll need to purchase the Ishuzoku Reviewers Blu-Ray to see it in its uncensored glory. Studio Passione handled the anime adaptation. Its source manga is ongoing.

Gushing Over Magical Girls — Modern Ecchi Anime Galore
Are you unsatisfied with the lack of yuri in your life? Do you watch magical girl anime and think, “Needs more lewdness!”? If you answered yes, Gushing Over Magical Girl should be your entry into ecchi anime. I can only describe this show as visual opulence. Not only does Maho Ako deliver an entertaining plot, every other scene has nudity!
Maho Ako tells the story of Utena Hiiragi, a girl who is obsessed with magical girls. One day, Utena mistakenly believes she has the opportunity to become a magical girl. But, instead, after her transformation, she’s forced to fight as an S&M-clad villainess! While initially conflicted, the now-christened Magia Baiser quickly realized how fulfilling it can be to bully kawaii mahou shoujos!
Anyone looking for a modern ecchi anime that uses nudity to drive the plot should watch this show. It’s one of the few ecchi anime that doesn’t use nudity for nudity’s sake — it’s the downfall of the main character. HIDIVE streams Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete in its almost fully uncensored glory. A second season of the anime is currently in production. Asahi Productions animated this adaptation. The Maho Ako manga is currently on hiatus.
If you’re worried about losing access to HIDIVE or you’re rightfully fond of owning physical media, we have Maho Ako merch, including the Blu-Rays.

Immoral Guild — Don’t Trust the Bears
Remember a few months back when we had those “man or bear” discussions? Whoever came up with that hypothetical never watched Futoku no Guild.
Immoral Guild follows Kikuru Madan, one of Mebuki town’s most skilled adventurers. Wanting a more laid-back, normie-ish life, Kikuru is heading towards retirement. Before he leaves, he assigns four hotties to train as replacements. Unfortunately, the town’s monsters start getting frisky with the ladies, shattering Kikuru’s hopes of swiftly training his new colleagues.
Futoku no Guild is the most wanton show on this list. Degenerates crafted this anime for degenerates! As a first-time recommendation, this ecchi anime might make some people uncomfortable. But everyone has a show they religiously recommend, knowing it will upset people. I do that with Yosuga no Sora all the time.
But if you’re looking for something filled with dark comedy and like waifus with all body types, be sure to add Futoku no Guild to your plan-to-watch list. Immoral Guild is streaming on HIDIVE. Studio TNK adapted the anime. The Futoku no Guild manga is ongoing.

Mysterious Disappearances — A Must-Watch Paranormal Ecchi Anime
Say you’re looking for a modern ecchi anime mixed with the paranormal. If that describes your current wants, Kaii to Otome to Kamikakushi should be on your watch/recommendation list.
Sumireko Ogawa was once a child prodigy. The literary community exalted her works despite her young age. As she aged, her prospects as an author diminished. But as Sumireko laments her lot in life, a second chance to regain her former clout appears. When she reads a mysterious book, she reverts to the loli version of herself, giving her a chance to relive the golden days. But, Sumireko’s joy is short-lived. Her colleague, Ren, a paranormal enthusiast, informs her that should she remain in her chibi form, she’ll die. When she begrudgingly reverts to her adult form, she decides to help Ren and his sister investigate high strangeness.
Is this really an ecchi anime? I can hear you asking. YES! IT IS! The fan service in this show is glorious! Sumireko sex appeal is addictive! She’s stacked like an aircraft carrier. Luckily for us, the anime always shows that off. Crunchyroll streams Mysterious Disappearances. This ecchi anime’s source manga is ongoing. Studio Zero-G handled the anime’s adaptation.

The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses — It’s Time for a Ha-ha-ha-harem!
Usually, when someone’s grandma dies, the most they get is a few quid. Hayato Kasukabe, however, inherited a house and café filled with hotties!!! But, initially displeased with that glorious gift, Hayato intended to kick the girls out and sell the property. But after bonding with the kawaii college girls (and a single JK), the studious lad has a change of heart. And like any other harem anime, after the inhabitants of Café Familia start to bond, love quickly blooms.
Why do I recommend this show? One word: characters. Usually, it’s pretty straightforward to pick your favorite girl in a harem. Here it’s nearly impossible. The fact that most of these waifus are adults gives the show a refreshing, poignant feeling. I couldn’t relate to teenage angst and romance in high school, much less now. Yet, the indecision and hesitancy here make sense. Best of all, you can feel the love the characters share. It’s never overbearing or overwhelming — it’s merely there, and in a modern ecchi anime, that’s a rare thing to pull off. Crunchyroll streams both seasons of Megami no Café Terrace.
Tezuka Productions worked on the anime’s two seasons. The Koji Seo manga is still ongoing.

What Ecchi Anime Brought You to the Genre?
If I had to list the ecchi anime that made me fall in love with anime, they’d be D-Frag, Kiss x Sis, and Heaven’s Lost Property. Even now, years later, when I remember the intense emotions and laughs those shows gave me, I feel all fuwa fuwa. But some fans might feel these shows are dated. So, I understand that I can’t wholesale recommend them, especially if the person I’d like to recommend them to is a stickler for modern art styles. If you’re new to the genre, prefer modern ecchi anime art, and want something to start with (for yourself or someone else), I hope these recommendations satisfy you.
This being J-List, I can safely assume that some of this article’s readers feel the same way about doujins. Don’t worry, I’m here to help! For doujins with newer-looking art styles, I strongly recommend Nekomugi’s Fall in Love with You Every Day. Tsumiki’s Lycoris no Ecchina Hon Omnibus is another must-have for fans of modern-looking art styles.
