I’m starting to love Re:Zero’s Ram. I love an underdog. Ram, alone, can’t compete with Rem’s popularity. Together, the twins are cosplay gold. But few cosplayers will choose the pink and cosplay Ram solo.
And that’s good for otaku niche freedom and truth.

Oni girls in the bedroom? We know you’ve thought about the possibilities.
Fighting for the Fringes
Otaku love the fringes. You know what I mean. We love to stand apart.
Team Rem? Find Rem cosplays here.
Sure, we’re happy when more people of culture join our dingy club room, but we’re wary of anime tourists and wannabes. Authenticity is the currency. We’re looking for members with the right kind of weird. (And if you’re here, on the J-List blog, we guarantee you’re the right kind of weird.)
Team Emelia? We’ve got Emelia cosplays here and here.
Cosplay Ram Defeats Normies and the Robotic Normie Maker
Will AI normalize the world?
Developers train large language models to give the most likely answer (read “popular”), based on what they’ve seen before (all those blog posts and articles written by “experts”). Popular answers that pass through the filters of guardrails and human intervention bubble to the top, burying unpopular answers. Even if they’re correct.
Stack Overflow users will have seen second-best answers that were more correct than the top-voted answer. Then add in the polarization of social media, and you’ve got a robotic normie maker that threatens to kill free thought.
AI isn’t punk.
That’s why I like cosplay Ram. She stands against popular opinion like a furry in a room full of dry-humored accountants. She’s herself. She’s authentic and true.
And the world needs authenticity and truth.
