What would you do if you were stranded on a deserted island? What about if you were stranded there with the most attractive person you know? What if you were stranded on that island, together with the hottest person imaginable…for 99 days? Forget about things like finding food or getting shelter or building a fire. What would it be like to spend every waking and resting moment next to such an attractive person for months on end? The kinds of sexual frustration and desires that would spring up in that situation might seem unimaginable, but over the course of 9 chapters and 201 pages, F4U has done just that with his newest FAKKU manga release, Excursion Day 99.
There aren’t any kind of bonus illustrations or materials in the book besides the afterword, which is a bit of a disappointment. It’s especially disappointing considering how beautiful the full-color cover illustrations by F4U are for Excursion Day 99. F4U has a cute art style with exaggerated, almost cartoon-ish expressions and proportions, and he uses vivid pastel colors to complement his art perfectly. Lights and shadows bounce off of the skin of every girl to add some incredible depth to the illustrations, as well. The bright shades of color used in these illustrations and the way they contrast with each other are wonderful, so it’s a shame that we don’t get more of that in this book.
Thankfully, there’s just as much attention to detail put into the regular pages of Excursion Day 99. The expressive and adorable art of F4U bounces off of each page, with characters sporting expressive faces and erotic bodies. The detail put into the fully uncensored anatomy of each character is even more impressive. Seeing simple, comic-like characters interacting with meticulously drawn and detailed genitalia makes for an incredible manga experience. There’s even a comic-book style touch to the chapter menus and back-cover index that give the book even more of a unique personality. While every girl in the book has pretty identical proportions, their designs and personalities are different enough to make their chapters stand out from each other. Some characters sport big glasses and a timid personality, while others have exotic white hair and a dominant demeanor that make each chapter a different kind of fun and sexy.
This book is split between two separate parts. The first is a trilogy of chapters called Excursion Day 99, while the 2nd part is a collection of totally standalone stories unrelated to the action from the beginning of the book. In Excursion Day 99, a cruise ship called The Alligator is out on a voyage bound for Hakuyomei. Unfortunately for the passengers, harsh seas and dangerous weather cause the vessel to crash and sink out at sea. Various groups of passengers manage to survive the ordeal and wash up together on a deserted island far away from civilization. The next three chapters focus on their new island life, and how they deal with the sexual frustrations that come with being shipwrecked.
The first chapter of this set of stories focuses on four girls and one guy who managed to escape the crashing cruise ship together on a lifeboat. 99 days later, the group of girls has made a routine of draining their male companion dry with hours of daily sex on the deserted beach. Yuuta-kun is forced to act as a source of protein for the girls, spending his days feeding their sexual appetites. It’s a really interesting dynamic that’s kept light and humorous, rather than playing into the dark or serious aspects of being a stranded sex slave. It’s a fun and wild opener that sets the scene for the kind of stories to expect out of Excursion Day 99.

This trilogy caps off with an interesting chapter called “~Island For Two~”. This story focuses on a boy and a girl who washed up on the deserted island together. The girl knew the boy as her romantic partner’s close friend, while the boy knew the girl as his own lover’s friend. After 99 days of being alone on the island together, they’ve become regular masturbation buddies and let out their sexual urges together without betraying their partners back home. One thing leads to another, though, and on the 99th day of being stranded together, they become more than just masturbation partners. It’s a simple but sweet story with a hint of romance to it and, beyond the incredibly gorgeous artwork, it stands as one of the best-written parts of the entire book.
Beyond the deserted island stories of Excursion Day 99, there are some standalone chapters that are just as fun and erotic. One of these is titled The Truth Between The Lies. It focuses on a college student named Makoto-kun and his neighbor, an older married woman named Yukari. She visits him every day to tease him with endless innuendo and flirtation, but it’s always nothing more than a quick joke. He’s gotten used to her antics, and how much she loves her husband. One day, though, after she’s dropped off some extra stew that she made for dinner, Yukari busts into Makoto’s room with the news that her husband is cheating on her. Makoto tries to comfort her in her time of need but fails to realize he has a huge boner at the moment. Yukari, on the other hand, notices right away and decides to take action. It’s a fun and quirky story, and the way the characters bounce off each other and talk to one another is endlessly entertaining.
Excursion Day 99 is an absolutely incredible book that is equal parts erotic and entertaining. The art style and illustrations might seem cartoonish and silly at first, but they end up being some of the most attractive visuals I’ve ever seen in a hentai manga once the action really starts going. Each chapter has a collection of fun characters and wild scenarios that kept me engaged from beginning to end, so if you’re looking for your new favorite hentai manga, look no further than Excursion Day 99.
