Rock is a Lady’s Modesty Shreds in the Music Room

A fine lady from a commoner upbringing begins attending an upper-class all-girls academy. She swears off her love of rock music to embrace her peers’ love of classical music. Her outlook changes when she hears the school idol playing the drums in an abandoned school building. We’ll see what tune she sings after Rock is a Lady’s Modesty (Rock wa Lady no Tashinamideshite) premieres sometime in April 2025.

Hiroshi Fukuda released the original Rock is a Lady’s Modesty manga series on October 28th, 2022. Hakusensha has since published five volumes in Young Animal.

The two rocker girls are as follows:

Lilisa Suzunomiya — Akira Sekine (Maryu Reage from Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?). A rocker who set her guitar aside after her father died.
Otoha Kurogane — Miyuri Shimabukuro (Kiku Kamishirakawa from Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS). A refined upper-class girl who hides her love of rock music.

Bandai Namco Pictures has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Rock is a Lady’s Modesty. You can find additional series information and the key visuals there. Even princess-like girls can shred like the rock gods before them.

Tear Up the Ballroom, Rock is a Lady’s Modesty

Lilisa Suzunomiya’s mother remarried after her husband died. Her new husband is a wealthy and influential real estate magnate from Kanto. Lilisa decided to fit in with her new life and set aside her passion for rock music, a love she inherited from her father. Try as she might, she can’t stand classical music. Lilisa fakes it until she makes it when she transfers to the Oushin Academy for Girls, a prestigious academy for the daughters of elite families.

Lilisa runs into Otoha Kurogane, the daughter of a politician and the other school idol. She finds a dropped guitar pick and doubts that it belongs to Otoha. Finding Otoha playing the drums in an abandoned school building disproves Lilisa’s doubts. Otoha invites her to play and offers her a guitar and the pick. Together, the two enjoy a heated jam session. It’s just the first of many sessions they’ll enjoy.
