Haruka Sakura and his friends at Furin High School are back for another battle. Bofurin’s fighters have grown stronger since their last bout, and their bonds remain just as solid. Their new opponents dress in white and wield weapons to break their opponents. We’ll see how Haruka and his friends handle this threat when Wind Breaker Season 2 premieres sometime in April 2025.
Satoru Nii released the original Wind Breaker manga series on January 13th, 2021. Kodansha has since published nineteen volumes in Magazine Pocket. Studio CloverWorks’ anime adaptation premiered on April 5th, 2024.
This loner and two of his new friends are as follows:
- Haruka Sakura — Yuma Uchida (Megumi Fushiguro in Jujutsu Kaisen). A fighter whose heterochromia once alienated him from others.
- Ren Kaji — Nobuhiko Okamoto (Katsuki Bakugo from My Hero Academia). A second-year student at Furin High School and Haruka’s mentor.
- Tasuku Tsubakino — Ryota Osaka (Gyutaro from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). One of Bofurin’s Four Heavenly Kings.
CloverWorks has maintained a home page, a TikTok page, and a Twitter (X) page to promote Wind Breaker. You can find additional series information and the key visuals there. Friends stick together on the battlefield.
Kick and Punch Like a Wind Breaker
People have ostracized Haruka Sakura for years due to his heterochromia and lack of social skills. Their attacks on him only made him stronger. He had to fight to survive, after all. Haruka’s troubled youth made him strong, but he still lacked friends and any trace of happiness beyond taking pride in his strength. This prompted him to enroll in Furin High School, which valued fighting ability above academic ability. It’s here that he found people who would treat him with kindness.
Haruka joined Bofurin, a group of delinquents who maintain peace and safety. KEEL is the newest threat that has begun to approach them. They are a vicious gang that wears white skeleton jackets and wields blunt weapons rather than their own fists in fights. KEEL has targeted Furin students for bullying and forced recruitment. Haruka and Bofurin march now to put them in their place.
