The isekai protagonist, whose cheat skill comes with a massive catch, returns. Subaru and his friends are back to unite friends and foes against enemies whose magic can destroy an entire city. Subaru might have to die once or twice to figure things out, but he’ll get there. We’ll see how he tries to save the day when Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World Season 3 premieres on October 2nd, 2024. This season will adapt Arc 5, the “Attack Arc” or “The Stars That Engrave History,” and Arc 6, the “Counterattack Arc” or “The Corridor of Memories.”
Tappei Nagatsuki and Shin’ichiro Otsuka released the original Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World light novel on January 24th, 2014. Media Factory has since published 38 volumes and five side stories in the MF Bunko J imprint. Studio White Fox’s anime adaptation premiered on April 4th, 2016.
The isekai cheat protagonist, his Best Girl, and a so-called Mother are as follows:
- Subaru Natsuki — Yusuke Kobayashi (Dino from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime). A reclusive Japanese guy whom another world summoned. His gift and curse allow him to avoid death.
- Emilia — Rie Takahashi (Pepper from Urusei Yatsura). A half-elf girl and one of the candidates to become the next King of Lugunica.
- Capella Emerada Lugunica — Aoi Yuki (Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners). The Sin Archbishop who represents Lust in the Witch Cult. She is the “Mother” of a magical people’s group who heeds her every command.

Battle Against Sin Re:Zero
Subaru Natsuki grew up being proud of his father. He acted in ways that would make his father prod. Subaru excelled in sports and class, and most people liked him. Things changed as he passed from junior high into high school. He was no longer the cleverest or fastest guy around. Fear and shame overshadowed him, and he felt he was no longer worthy to be his father’s son. Subaru locked himself away and became a NEET, a social recluse. Then, another world summoned him, and he met a cute elf girl. He proceeded to die protecting her, only to return to life and find himself hours before the incident.
Subaru has since used his Return by Death ability to chart a course to victory. Recently, a fellow royal candidate named Anastasia Hoshin invited Emilia and her friends, plus other royal candidates, to the Watergate City of Priestella. A tense situation becomes even worse after the Sin Archbishops of the Witch Cult attack and then devastate the city. Subaru must now unite these factions to defend the populace from the evil of sin.
