Girls with pink hair are a popular mainstay in anime. They’re some of our most beloved girls, and it’s not just because of their hair color. Dubbed pink hair power by our very own Captain, the following maidens are proof as to why we see plenty of girls with pink hair in anime and manga.
There’s a ton of girls with pink hair power, so we might have to do a Part 2 at some point.
1. Chika Fujiwara (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War / Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Ren’ai Zunousen)
She looks awfully good in a bikini, doesn’t she? Chika comes from a prestigious line of political powerhouses, which made everyone expect great things from her. As such, she became a piano-playing prodigy and the secretary of the student council. Despite her keen perception and sharp wit, she’s known to cheat at games. She’s also known as something of an airhead.
Aka Akasaka wrote and illustrated Kaguya-sama’s story from May 19th, 2015 to November 2nd, 2022. Shueisha published the series in the Young Jump Comics imprint in 28 volumes.
2. Hitori Gotoh / Bocchi (Bocchi the Rock!)
Hitori Gotoh, also known as Bocchi, is a socially awkward and anxious girl. Despite her shy nature, she longs to become a rock star and make friends. She gets her chance when she’s invited to join Kessoku Band as their lead guitarist. Bocchi thereafter rocks her heart out with pink hair power.
As an aside, her shirts and sweater pull double duty, because the image on the right was drawn and posted by Aki Hamaji, the writer and author of the series. It’s canon. Hamaji has been drawing and writing Bocchi’s series since December 19th, 2017. Houbunsha has published five volumes in the Manga Time Kirara Max magazine so far.
3. Super Sonico (Super Sonico)
Sonico is the lead character in a wildly popular multimedia franchise. She is known to be a rocker, much like Bocchi, but she’s more outgoing. She is the vocalist and guitarist of the First Astronomical Velocity band. Sonico is never seen without her trademark headphones.
Tsuji Santa designed Sonico for Nitroplus sometime in 2006. She has since appeared in a number of different forms, such as manga, anime, and video games.
Speaking of the thicc rocker Super Sonico, the Super Sonico 1/7 Figure Libra Ver. is currently available in the J-List Shop’s Super Sonico section. She is truly divine, and thicc.
4. Miyako Shikimori (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie / Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san)
Miyako falls under the “tough pink girls” category due to her second nature. She’s normally cute and charming. However, when things get dangerous, especially for her unlucky Yuu Izumi, Shikimori-san gets serious. She displays a cool and ruthless side that her boyfriend quite likes. True pink hair power.
Keigo Maki wrote and illustrated the cool Shikimori-san between February 2nd, 2019 and February 18th, 2023. Kodansha published the series in the Magazine Pocket in twenty volumes.
5. Milim Nava (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime / Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken)
Milim is one truly overpowered anime girl, and we love her for it. She is among the oldest demon lords, and one of the most powerful beings in the world. That she has pink hair power is just a coincidence. She’s one of the characters with multiple forms, so there’s more of her to love. With her power to bring ruin to the world, it’s advised that people start loving her quickly.
Fuse began writing Milim’s story on February 20th, 2013. Mitz Vah was brought on to illustrate the series on May 30th, 2014. Micro Magazine has since published twenty volumes and two extras in the GC Novels imprint.
6. Mafuyu Kirisu (We Never Learn / Bokutachi wa Benkyo ga Dekinai)
Despite her above appearance, as lovely as it is, Mafuyu is an intelligent, kind, and dutiful teacher. She encourages her students to do their best and gain the skills they need to go far in life. Pink hair power or not, Mafuyu was also an extremely talented figure skater when she attended high school. She earned multiple awards for her work. However, Nariyuki’s father inspired her to teach. The Mafuyu and Nariyuki ending sees the two get married and work together as teachers.
Taishi Tsutsu wrote and illustrated Nariyuki’s harem life between February 6th, 2017 and December 21st, 2020. Shueisha published the series in 21 volumes in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
7. Lala Satalin Deviluke (To LOVE-Ru)
Lala is as smart and powerful as she is beautiful, so she has true pink hair power. She gets a lot of that beauty from her mother, Sephie. Lala fled to Earth to avoid a marriage, and ended up in Rito Yuki’s bathtub. She made up a line about wanting to marry him to further her own plans. However, she genuinely fell in love with him. Her next great plan was to form a harem for Rito. Pink hair power should not be underestimated.
Saki Hasemi wrote, and Kentaro Yabuki illustrated Lala’s harem plan from April 24th, 2006 to March 4th, 2017. Shueisha published the series in 36 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump.
8. Zero Two (DARLING in the FRANXX)
Zero Two is an incredibly skilled pilot who fights to defend humanity. This is despite the abuse and mistreatment she suffered at the hands of humanity. Meeting and bonding with Hiro caused her to temper her attitude and place more value in life. This is the power of love, and pink hair.
Studios, A-1 Pictures, Trigger, and CloverWorks worked together to present this iconic anime series. It ran from January 13th, 2018 to July 7th, 2018 in 24 episodes.
9. Louise de La Vallière (The Familiar of Zero / Zero no Tsukaima)
Louise is one of the quintessential tsundere girls in anime. She was brought to life by Rie Kugimiya, and she has pink hair power. That and the almighty power of void. Louise ended up with a human as a familiar, and went on to forge a legend. That human, Saito, carefully avoided all of the harem flags thrown his way. He’s the real zero in this situation.
Noboru Yamaguchi wrote, and Eiji Usatsuka illustrated this series from June 25th, 2004 to February 24th, 2017. Media Factory published Louise’s tale covered in 22 volumes and a side story collection in the MF Bunko J imprint.
10. M.M. / Mei Mishima (Kemeko Deluxe!)
M.M. is an alien girl who came to Earth to protect Sanpeita from machines sent by Mishima Electronics. She also arrived to marry him. M.M. typically uses Kemeko, a mech suit with incredible powers and properties. Its default colors resemble Asuka’s from Evangelion.
Masakazu Iwasaki wrote and illustrated the series from October 27th, 2005 to June 27th, 2011. ASCII Media Works published the series’ nine volumes in the Dengeki Daioh magazine.
11. Meroune Lorelei (Monster Musume no Iru Nichijo / Everyday Life with Monster Girls)
Meroune is the princess of the Mermaid Kingdom. Like her mother, she longs for a “tragic romance” wherein she becomes Kimihito’s mistress while he dates Miia. Meroune changes her mind after fixing a dire situation in the Mermaid Kingdom. From that point on, she would prefer to be Kimihito’s wife, while Miia can become his mistress.
Okayado began writing and drawing Meroune’s strange fascination with NTR on March 19th, 2012. Tokuma Shoten has since published eighteen volumes in the Monthly Comic Ryu magazine.
12. Sakura Kirishima (Hundred)
Sakura had a particularly rough childhood. Her mother was a famous pianist, and her father was a jerk. They divorced, and he continued to drop the ball until he outright sold Sakura to an institute after he couldn’t pay some medical bills. Fortunately, Sakura was well cared for, and she became both a popular idol and a fighter who can defend humanity. This is true pink hair power. They can do it all.

Jun Misaki wrote, and Nekosuke Okuma illustrated this series of humans and their tech weapons fighting monsters from November 15th, 2012 to October 15th, 2018. SB Creative published the series in sixteen volumes in the GA Bunko imprint.
