Bushiroad, the entertainment company behind BanG Dream! and purveyors of the Weiss Schwarz trading card game have recently announced several expansion sets coming to the TCG in the near future. Get ready to dust off your play mat, because there are quite a few new packs to crack here.
Back in September, Bushiroad announced that the Weiss Schwarz: Rent-A-Girlfriend Trial Deck+ and Weiss Schwarz: Rent-A-Girlfriend Booster Set are to be released on February 11th, just in time for Valentines Day! The set contains 100 types of cards, plus 36 types of parallels. What’s nifty is that booster packs have a chance of including an autographed card by one of the animation’s vocal cast. The Trial Deck+ is an easy way to get started, as it contains a 50 card deck, a rules sheet, a paper playmat, and a deck manual.
The next release following the Rent-a-Girlfriend set will be the BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Premium Booster, due on April 8th, 2022. This limited set commemorates the 4th anniversary of BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!, and accordingly, each premium booster pack will have five foil cards inside.
On April 29th, the next set debuting is the Hololive set, featuring seven types of Trial Deck+. Details on which Hololive talents they’d be adding (if any) on top of the pre-existing Hololive cards were absent in the announcement, however.
The action-thriller series penned by Ken Wakui, Tokyo Revengers, takes the spotlight in May. This time-traveling saga just wrapped up its anime debut in September if you’re looking for something new to watch. Like the previous sets, this one comes with a unique Trial Deck+.
As we look into the far future, the details about the newly arriving sets become hazy. Fate/Grand Order the Movie – Divine Realm of the Round Table: Camelot film is getting a booster pack sometime next Summer, though it stands out from the rest of the pack by its lack of a Trial Deck+.
Is it wrong to body-check shoppers out of the way to grab a bunch of TCG packs off the shelf? Perhaps, but thankfully you can order these online in the Summer of 2022. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Trial Deck+ and booster pack will be arriving for fans of this sexy series.
Whether you’re a person who got gatekept out of the Pokémon TCG due to lack of supply, or if you just want a foil card of Ruka Sarashina, or if you’re simply a longtime fan of Weiss Schwarz’s TCG offerings, 2022 promises to be a good year for card game enthusiasts.
