In a way, we’re living in a Golden Age of Art, where we can not only buy awesome naughty and wholesome doujinshi from our favorite artists but also enjoy awesome official hentai products featuring mousepads, tapestries and more. Even better, awesome companies like J18 Publishing are working hard to license these doujinshi for publishing in English in 100% uncensored form. Sometimes we get extra-lucky, and characters from a doujin series become popular enough that animation studios will create an anime for us to enjoy.
That’s the case with two new series based on popular doujinshi, Ganbare Douki-chan (by Miru Tights creator Yom), and the second serving of Tawawa on Monday. Let’s check out both shows in this post!
Should You Watch Ganbare Douki-chan? Yes!
After he gave everyone an eternal fetish for cute girls wearing sexy tights, artist Yom created a new character in the form of Douki-chan, a young Japanese OL who is sweet on her male coworker. She’s featured in a series of popular doujinshi called Ganbare Douki-chan (English title: Senpai is Mine), which allows fans to follow her story while enjoying the sexy tights and underwear she wears. Because Douki-chan is shy and cute and pure, the audience finds itself immediately rooting for her over the new romantic rivals who will be entering the fray soon. Which girl will win?
When a “mistake” forces Douki-chan and her male colleague to stay together in the same hotel room while on a business trip together, she makes sure to let him know that she’ll kill him “socially” if he tries anything romantic with her. This threat works a little too well, with the poor man becoming terrified of touching her, resulting in her frustration the next morning that he wouldn’t try anything sexual with her.
Let’s talk about the concept of douki. Japan is said to be a “vertical” society in which everyone knows their place in relation to everyone else, and uses polite or informal language with others in a way that would be unthinkable in American English. As I wrote in my post about five linguistic ideas that define Japan, there are three kinds of relationships in an organization: senpai and kohai, senior or junior member, and douki (同期, “same period”), someone who joined the organization at the same time as you. While there’s a bit of a “politeness barrier” with senpai and kohai relationships, douki relationships are emotionally the closest.
Tawawa on Monday Returns!
In addition to Douki-chan, the other bit of good news was a new season of Tawawa on Monday, aka Getsuyoubi no Tawawa, has returned! It’s a short anime with a specific mission: to make us feel better about Mondays through the power of oppai, and it’s super effective!
The show follows the adventures of a stressed-out salaryman named Oniisan who’s friends with a busty high school girl named Ai-chan. Every Monday he goes out of his way to ride the same train as her, to recharge his batteries and protect her from chikan (train gropers), for which he receives the buttons that have been popped off Ai-chan’s blouse because of her explosively large breasts that week. And now, her busty younger sister is in the picture, too.

There’s nothing like re-watching the legendary Studio Ghibli film Castle in the Sky Laputa and reenacting your favorite scene. Of course, when two girls with huge J-cup breasts do it…well you can watch the video above to see what happens.
In the series, there’s also another salaryman named Senpai who has a busty co-worker named Kohai-chan who is gunning for him romantically. I imagine they’ll show up soon!
