Why Does Monogatari Series Have So Many Awesome Girls?

Monogatari Series is a unique anime centered around Koyomi Araragi, a high school boy who finds himself entangled with a series of girls in need of his help. Each girl is afflicted by a kaii, a mysterious supernatural entity tied to an animal, referred to as an “oddity.” Each of these oddities is connected to each girl’s personal struggle in some way, and Koyomi must help free them. As Koyomi assists each girl, he build a “harem” around him. These characters reappear throughout the series as the overall story evolves.

Monogatari Series is an absolute treat if you’re a fan of Japan’s top voice actresses, because the entire cast is amazing, and dialogue is so important to the story. But sometimes I almost feel sorry for the voice cast. Even just in the first series Bakemonogatari, voice actress Chiwa Saito (Hitagi Senjougahara) said she basically spoke a whole year’s worth of dialogue, far more than any other anime she’d been involved with. And because the show was a runaway hit, spawning nine more series and three films, she and the rest of the voice cast are basically trapped voicing these characters for the rest of their lives.

There are a lot of excellent choices, but for me it’s always Senjougahara. I adore her personality, and she’s beyond beautiful. One of my all-time favorite characters.
