One thing we all love is when a cute girl’s clothing suffers some critical failure allowing us to enjoy what’s called “lucky sukebe” [pronounced su-keh-beh] in Japanese, meaning an accidental sexy situation that we didn’t expect but are always happy to see. I asked J-List’s awesome customers to share their favorite sexy anime wardrobe malfunction situations, and here’s the list we came up with!
Yukata are famous for coming off at the wrong times, especially while you’re sleeping in one. You’ll generally get in your futon while wearing a kimono and somehow wake up naked. In this scene, Illya managed to lose her yukata through the power of fanservice!
Sometimes wardrobe malfunctions can be simple things, like a girl walking to school with her skirt riding up because of her bag, showing the world her lovely shimapan (which we have on the site).
Of course, sometimes anime characters forget to put their clothes on in the first place. Or panties, in this case.
If there is a scene with a girl wearing a towel, it’s a good bet something like this will happen.

Another source of anime wardrobe problems comes from a character with overly-large breasts causing some kind of major failure at just the wrong moment. Or the right moment, depending on your point of view.
Having the bikini you’re wearing shrink in size for some reason is another problem that can vex anime girls.
Sometimes you’re trying to find a watermelon while blindfolded, and you find another kind of watermelon.
Wind can cause a lot of accidental anime wardrobe malfunctions, which always seems to happen when we’re watching. Imagine the chances of that!
Yes, if there’s a wind, we can pretty much assume there’ll be a cute girl wearing shimapan that will be exposed for us.
