If you follow J-List’s Facebook page or Twitter or Tumblr feeds, you’ll know that I’m a card-carrying fan of 百合 yuri, the drama that’s created when girls fall in love with other girls. Whenever a new yuri show comes along, like the excellent Sakura Trick last season, I end up posting lots of cool art for my readers, which hopefully encourages them to become fans of the show. This season there’s a fun new show called Riddle Story of Devil, a.k.a. Akuma no Riddle. It’s a rather dark story in which twelve flamboyant young assassins attending a girl’s boarding school must kill one of their classmates, the cute Haru-chan, within certain specific guidelines. Fortunately, Haru is protected by Tokaku, a cold but strong girl who develops feelings for Haru and who fights the other girls off to keep her safe. Being a general student of 萌え moé, or the modern approach to creating female characters who are not only extremely cute but also charming because of various character faults they possess, I’m really enjoying Akuma no Riddle.
I’m a fan of the dark yuri show Akuma no Riddle.
