Although she’s only been in the industry for a decade, Naomi Oozura really made her mark with a lot of popular characters, including Satania, Uzaki-chan and Jahy-sama!
Naomi was born in Miyagi Prefecture, where her mother is from, but soon moved to Ibaragi (just north of Tokyo). She loved manga and anime growing up, and describes Vegeta as her “first love.” Watching anime, she would always read the ending credits and see the names of the seiyu who had appeared in that episode. One company stood out to her — Aoni Productions — so she made up her mind to attend the Aoni Juku Voice Training School in Osaka and become a professional voice actor working for that talent agency.
She got her first major role in the anime Inari Kon Kon in 2014, but her early career consisted mostly of smaller roles. This changed with 2017’s Gabriel Drop Out, when her character Satania became a fan favorite. Her rough, husky voice proved perfect for several other big roles. She voiced Kiriha from Tsugumomo, Hana Uzaki from Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! and Jahy-sama. I’m sure there will be many more amazing roles for her in the future.
Naomi likes studying English, and holds level 2 of the STEP Test of ESL. Her hobbies are drawing, playing piano and baking. She’s skilled at playing Taiko: Drum Master, and the character she voices in Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, Chieri Ogata, possesses the same skill.
On May 25, 2023, she announced on Twitter that she had gotten married and was expecting her first child. She gave birth safely in late December. Congratulations!
Happy Birthday to Naomi Oozora! What Are Her Most Popular Roles?
What’s your favorite voice role by Naomi Oozora? Here are our top picks!
Satanichia Kurumizawa Mcdowell, aka Satania, from Gabriel Drop Out. One of the most popular characters in recent years both inside and outside Japan. Satania became a meme queen for several years, inspiring one of J-List’s most popular products ever.
Hana Uzaki from Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! One of the most adorable university students in anime, Uzaki-chan just wants to have fun with her senpai all the time.
Jahy-sama from Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! Another big role for Naomi Oozora was Jahy-sama, the devilish demon lord with a tiny body, except when she needs to transform into her adult self and go to work.
Kiriha from Tsugumomo. Another fiery character Naomi Oozora brings to life is the super-cute Kiriha from Tsugumomo, a fun and sexy anime about a boy who lives with his childhood friend, who is also a supernatural spirit.
Maou from Lv1 Maou and One Room Hero. Last year brought us a lot of sexy fan service, and one of the more enjoyable shows was Lv1 Maou and One Room Hero. Naomi voiced the titular (heh) demon lord who can transform from her chibi body to a sexier one.
Ruti Ragnason from Shin no Nakama. She has a role in the currently airing Banished From The Hero’s Party, I Decided To Live A Quiet Life In The Countryside. Are you watching it?
Midori from Yofukashi no Uta. Another popular role was Midori from Call of the Night. A really great voice role for her!
Chieri Ogata from Idolmaster Cinderella Girls. Naori also plays the role of Chieri from the Idolmaster Cinderella Girls games. I wonder if we’ll get to see this character in a proper anime role in the future?
Dina Pan from Kandagawa Jet Girls. Finally, another minor character, but a sexy one is Dina Pan, one of the two Pan sisters from Kandagawa Jet Girls. (Dina is the one on the left.)
