Greetings from J-List June 25, 2001

Well, first of all, we’re happy to announce that the J-List site is happily transferred to its new server, in what was a relatively painless DNS transfer. Mail sent to the jlist.com mail addresses only bounced for a few hours, and now the site is working quite well.

Unfortunately the “new” secure order form we posted over the weekend perfectly secure — but it failed to send orders to us as it was supposed to. Therefore, if you tried to submit an order over the weekend but didn’t get a reply from us, by all means, please email us about it and we’ll make sure your order is taken care of right away.

The new site is not, of course, the “new and improved J-List” we’ve been promising you. We’re still a little ways away from going live with the site, however we will get the new J-List site, which features full product search and many other very nice features, ready for you very soon. Personally, I can’t wait!

The Japanese are great fans of American movies, so much so that Disney is taking great pains to avoid offending movie-goers when Pearl Harbor opens next month. It’s always interesting to see how they translate the names of Japanese movies. Sometimes, they are translated more or less as-is — Star Wars Episode One was just called “Phantom Menace,” although these words mean nothing to Japanese fans. Often, titles are truncated grammatically, to make them easier to remember, e.g. You Got Mail. Other times, they just make up a new title they think will sell the movie. Somewhere in Seattle was called “Meguriaetara…” here, which means “When they finally met,” and An Officer and a Gentleman became “Ai to seishun no tabidachi” (A journey of love and youth). Close Encounters of the Third Kind became “Encounter with the Unknown.” And someone in Lucasfilm’s organization must have screwed up, because Return of the Jedi in Japanese is “Jedi no Fukushu,” which is Revenge of the Jedi, the film’s original title.

Yasu has had an interesting adventure. AV actress Ichigo Milk (Strawberry Milk) came to Gunma Prefecture to sign autographs and shake hands with fans, and he was there with his camera to record it all. Ichigo Milk is a charming AV idol with copper-bronze hair and a sweet, slender body. He got her autograph on behalf of all J-List fans — see the pictures at http://www.peterpayne.net/Merchant3/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PP&Product_Code=ICHIGO&Category_Code=PC

For our first update on the new server, we’re happy to bring you a whole slew of cool new items, including:

  • First of all, we’ve got several nice magazines for you, including the new issue of Cream (love those cute girls!), as well as some nice single issues of various value-price magazines
  • Since everyone loves our popular $5 magazine items, we’ve got a bunch posted for you on magazine page 3
  • If you love Japan’s very nice photobooks, we’ve got a nice update for you, including both new photobooks, including Morning Musume look-alike Mami Gotoh, as well as fresh stock of many sold-out hardcover photobooks
  • For fans of “bukkake” and sperm-fetish items from Japan, we’ve got another killer Live Gal’s Shower issue in, which features a full color magazine and two video CDs of bukkake AV footage, 2 hours!
  • Also, fresh copies of the very nice Body Poster Actress 2000, featuring some of the most popular gals at J-List
  • If you love erotic manga, of course we’ve got you covered, with several great new volumes from Fujimi Comics, Tsukasa and more — check both manga page 1 and page 2 for the newly updated items
  • Also for doujinshi fans, we’ve got a great update of cool items for you, including many rare Okachimentaiko and other doujinshi that will probably never be in stock again
  • We have another interesting new amateur series from Soft on Demand’s Natural High label, Puchi Outdoors, which feature pretty AV girls who get naked and do shameful things outdoors
  • For DVD collectors, we’ve got several cool new items for you, including Club Eccentric Ladyland (erotic orgy DVD), Legend of Big Bust All Stars (a great collection of the most famous past busty idols, including rare gals like Shinobu Hosokawa), and for “Kuru-kuru” fans, her super kogal sperm fetish production, Kuru Milk
  • For lovers of Japan’s pretty girl (bishoujo) games, we have a very nice art book containing tons of great glossy color artwork and hentai CG from the popular game “Air”
  • We have fresh stock of several flavors of Japanese gum
  • For Hello Kitty fans, a treat — a delicious “strawberry milk soft candy” on the Japanese snacks page
  • Finally, we’ve got some cool items on the Japanese signs and stickers page, limited stock of some interesting window stickers based on our popular Japanese T-shirts!

Once again, we thank you for your understanding during this bumpy week. Remember that the order form problems don’t affect our processing and shipping in any way. We’ll make sure your order goes out to you in a timely banner!
