We’re less than two months away from the premiere of Oshi no Ko’s third season. That means that right now is the perfect time to fawn over Ai Hoshino! With a beauty that defines the phrase “looks that kill,” a charismatic personality, and a physique that’s tight in all the right places, it’s indisputable that Ai-chan is a top idol. That’s why we’re ecstatically plugging an Ai Hoshino figure (or two)!
Best of all, we have an Ai Hoshino figure for every budget. Well, almost every budget. I’m aware that, like Shamiko in Machikado Mazoku, some readers have ¥400 and a potato to their name. #RelatableAnimeProblems. Setting anime figure budgets aside, fear not, weeb-kun — both of these figures are crafted by the renowned figure maker FuRyu. So rest assured, no matter which you choose, quality is on your side.
TENITOL’s Ai Hoshino Figure — Affordably Kawaii
Not long ago, I was a broke researcher picking up every random job I could find to fund my work. Very few academic institutions fund work that has a high failure rate. But that kind of research has always been my calling. So, I had to sacrifice most luxuries to self-fund my work. However, thanks to figure lines like FuRyu’s TENITOL line, anime figures weren’t something I had to completely cut out. If you’re in a position where non-essential expenses are a luxury, it might be tough to indulge. However, if you still want some Oshi no Ko merch, TENITOL’s Ai Hoshino figure is here for you!
This non-scale, 8.3″ (21 cm) figure wholeheartedly embraces Ai’s kyuuto idol side. The young starlet beckons you with a bright smile and outstretched hand. Mahou Shoujo Haruyuki skillfully sculpted the fluttering of her hair and the sway of her skirt. The figure’s matte colors have a muted intensity fitting of the idol they adorn. Even the base this Ai Hoshino figure comes with is adorable. Two heart-shaped balloons make the dark PVC base feel like a stage. The TENITOL Ai Hoshino figure is now available for $35.10! Pick up this kawaii collectible on the J-List Store.
FuRyu’s Ai Hoshino 1/7 Scale Figure
In the time I’ve spent plugging anime figures, I’ve noticed that some collectors are adamant about only buying scale figures. If you fall in that category, this Ai Hoshino figure is the droid you’re looking for.
A truly stunning FuRyu release, the Ai Hoshino 1/7 scale figure is an ode to the glamour of the stage. A star-shaped base features dual-stage lights that highlight Ai as she strikes her signature poses. Unlike the previous figure, Takeuchi Ham’s color production is dazzling and vibrant. If a single phrase could be used to describe this figure’s color pro, it would be “kira kira.”
But this Ai Hoshino figure’s color production isn’t the only attention-catching attribute in this collectible. ISO’s sculpting work is glorious. Few figures can boast such fine details. The way ISO sculpted the creases in Ai’s blouse marvelously highlights her fit abdomen. That may sound needlessly horny, but I’ve never seen a fat idol. An idol’s physique is one of her ultimate weapons! And if you purchase this Ai Hoshino figure, you’ll get an ultimate weapon against the melancholy of a long day. After all, how can you not smile when you see this starlet?
Oshi no Ko Deets
If more people knew how shady show business is, few of them would support it. But Ai Hoshino waltzes through all the underhandedness and danger lurking in that world to claim the spot of Japan’s top idol. But as an idol, there are certain things she must never do, namely, betray her fans. Yet as Ai presents an unattainable persona on stage, at home, she’s the teenage mom to twins.
However, unknown to Ai, her kids are reincarnated fans of hers. As much as Ai tries to separate the different worlds she calls home, the darkness of show business comes calling. And when it does, her kids witness her brutal murder at the hands of one of her so-called “fans.” That act of violence is the catalyst that yeets her kids, especially her son, into the entertainment industry to enact revenge.
