The History of Hatsune Miku!
Hatsune Miku (product link) is a virtual singer created by Crypton Future Media in cooperation with Yamaha, who wanted a way to promote their virtual singing software that allowed fans to create vocal performances using digitized voices. While she wasn’t the first in the series of virtual singing characters in the Vocaloid series, she really caught on with fans. This was because of her beautiful character design by artist KEI, her flowing long hair, and perhaps…
…her legendary striped pantsu. You couldn’t get through the decade of the 2000s without obsessing over what kind of panties popular anime characters had on, and Miku’s signature green shimapan really got fans’ attention and didn’t let it go.
