Over the course of 11 chapters and 199 pages, Flappy Sugar Babies tells a variety of stories about various girls who only have one thing on their mind: sex. While some stories in the anthology are comedy-focused and others are heavy with their erotic nature, you’ll rarely be seeing any girls get taken advantage of or slowly be convinced to appreciate the joys of sex. These gals are horny, and they know it, and I absolutely appreciated it. The comedy in the book is also genuinely hilarious at times. Although the facial expressions can be a little flat or unexpressive at times, the fast-paced and slapstick style of the comedy in each chapter left me reeling, and the fast-paced nature of each story ensures that the jokes are even punchier, and the sex scenes are even naughtier.
The women in Flappy Sugar Babies are also all incredibly busty. Artist momi has a knack, and perhaps an obsession, with drawing fully figured girls who rock large breasts and ample butts. If you’re looking for a variety of body types to ogle with this book, you might want to look elsewhere. Each girl has a pretty identical figure, and in some cases, their designs are so similar that I thought the same character was being featured in multiple stories. It’s a shame that momi didn’t try to experiment with their designs and body types more in this book, but it isn’t necessarily a bad thing. They’re incredible at drawing thick, busty beauties, so having an entire book focus on that is stellar.
Every girl in Flappy Sugar Babies is spilling out of their clothes, with wide hips, plush thighs and massive tits. They don’t look like beanpoles with breasts attached, though; their bodies are naturally thick and developed in the areas that matter, giving them a lovely sense of softness and well-defined anatomy that makes each girl an incredible sight to behold. While facial expressions in the comedy scenes are flawed, they’re absolutely incredible in sex scenes. The ecstasy-filled faces of each character compliment the rough and dynamic sexual action, and every inch of the men and women in each story is filled with sexy detail that left me craving even more. Small details add up in big ways, like the way muscles on a girls butt will clench as they ride their man, or the way their breasts fold and squish against the guys who are desperately clinging to them. It’s easy to tell why momi chose to only draw curvy beauties in this book; they’re damn good at drawing them.
The sexiness of momi’s art in Flappy Sugar Babies is only amplified when it’s rendered in delicious full-color. While there aren’t any colored pinups in the book, there’s a 4-page colored prologue manga titled Flappy Cattle that blew me away. It features a curvy, blonde-haired beauty named Hana wearing a delectable cow-themed micro-bikini for her guy friend, complete with a pair of sheer white stockings and a cow-horn headband. For the next three pages, the two of them proceed to screw like animals and engage in a variety of wild, erotic positions. There’s so much extra detail packed into these pages thanks to the colored artwork. Hana has delightfully tanned skin, and a series of soft tan-lines etched across her chest and ass. The two are fooling around in the bathroom, so there are droplets and streaks of water glazed across Hana’s body a well. There’s a wonderfully soft rendering to the shadows and light bouncing off her body that not only adds a sense of depth to the art, but also renders the finer details in her anatomy like the muscle of her shoulders or lower back. I was absolutely floored by how gorgeous these pages were, and they easily ended up becoming my favorite part of the book.
Another highlight of the book is a later chapter Big Secret, Big Sister. The tall and busty Natsumi is hanging out at home, when she sees her younger step-brother Hayato leave his room. She notices he’s got a girl with him, but when the ditzy blonde-haired broad says hi, she thinks Natsumi is Hayato’s mother. She goes on about how Natsumi looks old for her age, and totally looks like a mom without her makeup on, and Natsumi struggles to maintain her composure. As soon as the two leave, she explodes in fury, storms into her room and devises a plan to prove to them that she’s just as much of a cute girl as Hayato’s air-headed partner. She interrupts their date later that day wearing a tight crop top, a tiny mini-skirt, luscious black leggings, and a light-colored wig to act like a girl named Saki and fool the two of them. She acts like she and Hayato made plans to go to a hotel, which pisses off Hayato’s girlfriend enough to make her leave.
Hayato, somehow, fails to recognize his sister under the wig that’s done in the same exact style as her normal hair. When she actually ends up dragging him to a hotel, he’s frustrated that his plans were ruined and decides to fool around with this stranger who interrupted them instead. Despite the weird plothole of Natsumi somehow not being recognized by her older brother, this chapter was such a great time. It had the strongest balance between comedy and sexiness that I’ve seen in Flappy Sugar Babies, too. The opening pages with Natsumi freaking out about being called a mom are really well done, and had me in stitches. The sex scenes in this chapter are even better, though. Natsumi isn’t sure how to react when her brother forces himself on her at first, but she soon gets into it and embraces the action, going from hesitant and nervous to addicted and obsessed. Wig weirdness aside, this is absolutely one of the best stories in the entire book.
While Flappy Sugar Babies doesn’t have a lot of character variety, it’s easy to tell that the artist prioritized drawing what they’re best at. Each woman in this anthology is big, thick and addicted to sex, and it leads to an endless variety of well-illustrated scenes that I was obsessed with. The comedy, while sometimes a little flat, ends up being elevated by the fast pacing of the book. Overall, it’s a solid volume worth checking out if you’re a fan of women who are thicker than a bowl of oatmeal.
