One thing I love about anime is its timeless nature, the way we can enjoy a classic work of anime or manga today just the same as we might have decades ago. A very special artbook came out celebrating the best anime love comedy heroines from the 1980s, and — especially considering the untimely passing of Kimagure Orange creator Izumi Matsumoto — it’s a book that a lot of anime fans might want to . Let’s take a look at what’s inside the 80s Anime Love Comedy Heroine Encyclopedia now!
The book is a 完全保存版 kannzen hozon-ban or keep-forever collectible data book filled with visuals and data on the best manga and anime heroines of the 80s. It starts off with information and beautiful art of Madoka Ayukawa and Hikaru Hiyama from Kimagure Orange Road, then moves on to to the other beloved characters of the era: Kyoko Otonashi from Maison Ikkoku — another show that affected me deeply as a fan — plus Lum from Urusei Yatsura, Minami Asakura from Touch, both Miyukis from Miyuki, Stop! Hibari-kun and more.
This is not the kind of book that comes out every year or even every decade, so fans of classic 80s anime and manga characters should make sure to pick up their copy of this unique and nostalgic encyclopedia before it sells out!
