Zegapain STA Flies to War in August

Kyo’s war against the invading Gards-orm continues. Zegapain STA is a sequel movie to the original Zegapain anime series, whose initial run concluded seventeen years ago. We’ll see if the adventure that began with Kyo’s fateful dive into the pool with the beautiful and mysterious Shizuno concludes on August 16th, 2024. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.

Takehiko Ito and other Sunrise staff created the Zegapain anime series. The initial run lasted from April 6th, 2006, to September 28th, 2006, in 26 episodes. Sunrise celebrated the series’ tenth anniversary with a Zegapain Adaptation movie compilation on October 15th, 2016.

Our troubled mecha pilot and two of his love interests are as follows:

Kyo Sogoru — Shintaro Asanuma (Takumu Mayuzumi in Accel World). Kyo is an energetic student who loves to swim. Shizuno approached him to help her save the world.
Shizuno Misaki — Ayako Kawasumi (Saki Tenjoin in To Love Ru Darkness). She is a beautiful and mysterious girl who seems familiar with Kyo. She asked him to dive into a pool with her.
Ryoko Kaminagi — Kana Hanazawa (Ichika Nakano from The Quintessential Quintuplets). Kyo’s childhood friend joins him on the battlefield in a unique role.

Zegapain STA Returns to the Front Lines

Kyo Sogoru is a stellar student of Maihama Minami High School. He has good grades and loves swimming. His ordinary life is interrupted when he sees a strange girl by the pool. Kyo discovers he is the only one who can see her, and the swimming club is in danger of closing without new members. He approaches his childhood friend Ryoko to help him by making a promotional video for the club. Kyo approaches the strange girl named Shizuno for help. She agrees on one condition: He dives into the pool with her.

This dive takes Kyo to a different world. Shizuno is a member of the human organization Celebrum. They’re dedicated to protecting humanity from the invading Gards-orm. Now, Kyo must pilot a mecha and go to war to save those he cares about.
