I think it’s safe to say that many of us have thought about what it would be like to sleep next to a genuine anime girlfriend. The people at anime merchandiser Slash Gift have found a way to bring that dream one step closer to reality for two lucky fans of the series Rent-A-Girlfriend. Specifically fans of one of the female leads, Chizuru Mizuhara.
How is Slash Gift turning this fantasy into a reality? By giving away two 55 inch acrylic stands featuring the character posing in a way that makes her look like she’s lying in bed with you. Check out the sample photos below.
As you can see in the photos, Chizuru is only shown from the torso up and her presence will be slightly larger than life-size which will give her kind of a commanding presence in either your office or bedroom (no judgment here) but maybe that’s the thing you’re looking for in your life?
Now, before you break out your credit cards and post the “Shut up and take my money” memes, you should know that these stands aren’t actually for sale but rather are the grand prizes being awarded in a special merchandise lottery which also features more compact and/or discreet prizes including stickers, keyholders, and towels.
In order to enter the lottery, you have to head to this website and buy “pulls” priced at 880 yen each. For every ten pulls you purchase (which will come out to roughly $80), you get an entry into the acrylic stand drawing. The two winners will be chosen on September 12th (shipping won’t take place until November).
Adapting the manga series of the same name, the Rent-A-Girlfriend anime adaptation produced by TMS Entertainment first appeared on Japanese airwaves in July 2020. A second season has already been green-lit for 2022.
