Studio Voil has not only unveiled a new trailer for Even a Replica Can Fall in Love that proves two is better than one, but they’ve also given us a release date!
Sunao Aikawa created a replica to do all of the things she didn’t want to do. The lazy girl treats Nao as little more than a servant, and cannon fodder when she needs it. Nao is content with her lot in life, a mere stand-in to attend classes and make up with friends after Sunao argues with them. Though she’s a complete genetic copy of Sunao, Nao has her own unique thoughts and feelings. We’ll see just how real Nao is when Even a Replica Can Fall in Love (Replica datte, Koi wo Suru) premieres on April 7th, 2026

Harunadon and raemz released the original Even a Replica Can Fall in Love light novel series on February 10th, 2023. ASCII Media Works has published five volumes in the Dengeki Bunko imprint. Momose Hanada provided the art for the manga adaptation, which debuted on April 26th, 2023. ASCII Media Works has since published four volumes in Dengeki Maoh.
Even a Replica Can Fall in Love Cast
The replica, her original self, and her love interest are as follows:

- Nao — Sumire Morohoshi (Tiné Chelc from Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn). Nao is Sunao’s replica. She wears her hair in a ponytail to set herself apart from the original version.
- Sunao Aikawa — Sumire Morohoshi (again!) (Shion Kaminari from VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral After Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream). Sunao is Nao’s lazy and irritable progenitor.
- Shuya Sanada — Ryota Suzuki (Third One for All from My Hero Academia). Shuya is Nao’s kind and helpful classmate.

Even a Replica Can Fall in Love, You Know?
Sunao Aikawa created an exact replica of herself when she was seven. Due to a past trauma, she sends Nao out in her stead. Whether it’s to school, playdates, or marathons, Nao acts whenever Sunao would rather stay inside. For her part, Nao enjoys performing the tasks Sunao actively avoids. She likes going to school, she likes studying, and she enjoys her time in the literature club. Her only wish is to enjoy more of life, even if people think she is someone else.

The new trailer shows more of Nao’s daily life. We’re introduced to more of the pair’s friends, and we see just how close Nao and her love interest, Shuya, really are. Nao and Sunao are shown interacting briefly, some of it nice, others give the impression that things can get tense. There appears to be some kind of Halloween-themed episode, wherein Shuya is a vampire, and Nao is his maid victim. I’m very interested in that one. The trailer ends with a downpour of papers that warn people of a doppelganger in their school. Someone knows Sunao and Nao’s secret.
