Fans of yuri anime like Yuri Is My Job! rejoice! A new anime about cute girls falling in love is on the horizon. Whisper Me a Love Song (Sasayaku You ni Koi wo Utau) asks whether or not true love can bloom from a misunderstanding. We’ll see what happens to a musician and the girl who admires her when this anime series premiered yesterday, April 14th, 2024. Let’s enjoy the new trailer and see if this anime is worth watching.
Eku Takeshima first released the original Whisper Me a Love Song manga on February 18th, 2019. Ichijinsha has since published nine volumes in Comic Yuri Hime.
Our lovely singer and her new admirer are as follows:
- Himari Kino — Hana Shimano (Kanie from Wonderful PreCure!). A high school freshman who confessed her admiration for Yori’s singing.
- Yori Asanagi — Asami Seto (Frill Shiranui from Oshi no Ko). The vocalist and lead guitarist for SSGIRLS. She mistakes Himari’s admiration for romantic interest.
- Aki Mizuguchi — Mikako Komatsu (Yutaka Shinozaki from My Tiny Senpai). The bassist for SSGIRLS. She supports Yori’s efforts to win Himari’s heart while harboring her own feelings for Yori.

Whisper Me a Love Song and Make My Heart Keep Rhythm
Whisper Me a Love Song proves once again that music is the language of love. Himari Kino sat in attendance at the SSGIRLS concert during her high school’s freshman welcoming party. She was mesmerized by their performance. The vocalist and lead guitarist Yori Asanagi stood out to her. Himari exclaimed that she “fell in love at first sight” to her friend Miki Mizuguchi while clarifying that she meant it in terms of admiration.
Himari left out the clarification when she met Yori in person and gave the same declaration, which led to a slight misunderstanding. Yori’s rooftop practice was interrupted by Himari with another declaration, though she included the admiration part this time. Yori was disappointed but she was determined to make Himari fall even deeper in love with her.
