A brilliant scientist developed a robot to help people. His invention became mass-produced for everyday use. However, he has since failed to get any invention off the ground. A friend suggested a different type of invention. We’ll see what becomes of his next project when the Make a Girl movie premieres on January 31st, 2025.
Gensho Yasuda released Make Love (a short anime) on February 8th, 2020. Make a Girl is a lengthier version of the original.
The inventor, his invention, and his cute classmate are as follows:
- Akira Mizutame — Shun Horie (Amethio in Pokémon Horizons: The Series). A genius inventor who invented the Salt series of worker robots.
- No. 0 — Atsumi Tanezaki (Frieren from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End). Akira’s first humanoid and sentient robot girl.
- Akane Yukimura — Sora Amamiya (Illustrious from Azur Lane). Akira’s patient and helpful classmate. She’s concerned that Akira spends more time working than caring for himself.
Studio Xenotoon has maintained a home page, a TikTok page, and a Twitter (X) page to promote Make a Girl. Gensho Yasuda also has a Twitter (X) page and a YouTube channel. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals there. They show No. 0’s artificial nature and lively personality in equal measure.
If All Else Fails, Make a Girl
Akira Mizutame is an inventor who possesses intellect and skill beyond his years. He developed the “Salt” line of robots. These widespread machines help people around houses and offices. However, each invention he created after the Salt robots failed. Nothing seems to work, and he feels his research has reached a dead end. A friend then suggests that he get a girlfriend to power himself up.
Akira built a girlfriend instead of meeting a girl and falling in love. No. 0 is lifelike in every conceivable way. Akira’s classmate and unofficial caretaker, Akane Yukimura, helps No. 0 to figure things out. No. 0 becomes torn by the feelings in her software program and her desire to grow. Akira’s feelings are just as confused, given his difficulty connecting with people.
