Everyone tries their favorite hero’s transformation pose at least once in their lives. It’s every child’s dream to become a hero. A specific Kamen Rider fan held onto this dream well into his adult years. A group of criminals appeared at the moment he had given up on his dream. We’ll see what he does when Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider (Tojima Tanzaburou wa Kamen Rider ni Naritai) premieres sometime in October 2025.
Yokusaru Shibata released the original Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider manga series on May 1st, 2018. Hero’s Inc. has since published sixteen volumes in Monthly Hero’s and Comiplex.
Three enthusiastic tokusatsu fans are as follows:
- Tanzaburou Tojima — Katsuyuki Konishi (Diavolo / King Crimson from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure). A lifelong Kamen Rider fan and part-time worker who wears a plastic Kamen Rider 1 mask to fight villains.
- Yuriko Okada — Ai Kayano (Shiro from No Game No Life). A lifelong Stronger fan and high school teacher who dresses like Electro‑Wave Human Tackle to fight villains.
- Yukarisu — Fairouz Ai (Power from Chainsaw Man). A restaurant worker who dresses as a Shocker “combatman” to carry out evil deeds.

It’s Time to Henshin, Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider
Tanzaburou Tojima grew up admiring Kamen Rider. He dreamed of becoming just like Takeshi Hongo himself. Tanzaburou underwent incredible training to reach his peak physical condition, all while calling on Shocker to modify his body to resemble that of a Kamen Rider. The only thing he gained from this training is the strength to wrestle a bear into submission. Tanzaburou has since accepted reality and sold all of his Kamen Rider merchandise.
A series of assaults and robberies by criminals dressed like Shocker “combatmen” reawakened his dream of becoming a hero. They attacked a festival as Tanzaburou was eating food there. He purchased a plastic Kamen Rider mask and immediately lived out his fantasies by defeating the criminals. Rather than receiving a hero’s reception, the public roundly mocks Tanzaburou. A fellow Kamen Rider fan only feels jealous because she couldn’t fight Shocker first.
