But First, Let’s Talk About What Inspired the TENGA x Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Collaboration…

Gainax produced the original TV anime Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt and released it in October 2010. Studio Trigger later acquired the series and released a sequel, New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, in July 2025.

The series follows the exiled angels Panty and Stocking Anarchy, who, after Heaven kicked them out, battle ghosts and demons with their underwear. Their underwear magically transforms into weapons. But kore wa kore, sore wa sore. Either way, by defeating the foul spirits that plague them, they can earn Heaven Coins and buy their way back into Heaven! But their lust and gluttony often derail their efforts.
