One of the harsher and severe isekai and reincarnation series returns! You’d think the gender-swap aspect would lighten the tone, but it does not. A Japanese salaryman with a harsh demeanor meets an unceremonious end at the hands of a disgruntled ex-employee. He meets — then proceeds to piss off — a godlike being. Being X sends him to another world, reincarnating him into a little girl amid a terrible war. We’ll see how he works to survive hell-like conditions when The Saga of Tanya the Evil (Yojo Senki) Season 2 premieres sometime in July 2026.

The Saga of Tanya the Evil Written by a Ruthless Atheist
The man who would one day be a little girl was a ruthless Japanese salaryman who never tolerated failure. He lived in modern-era Japan, circa 2013, as a corporate HR manager. His job was to lay off employees who did not perform as they should. The most recent termination decided to return the favor and terminate him from life by pushing him in front of a train. A bit excessive, even for an HR manager. This event led him to meet God in the afterlife.

The man readily expressed his skepticism of metaphysical entities, such as God and the Devil. He also explains the flaws that allowed faithlessness to sprout. The entity dubbed Being X challenged the salaryman and sent him to another world that reflected 1914’s Earth with magic. Now, in the vessel of the little girl Tanya, the former salaryman must survive and die a natural death or go straight to hell. That’s easier said than done, because Tanya is in magical Germany during a war.
