Fans the world over can see Goku’s journey toward godhood in a new light. We first saw him take on the God of Destruction Beerus in movie theaters some time ago. Later, that fight became part of Dragon Ball Super proper. This new series will remake both the “God of Destruction Beerus Saga” and the “Golden Frieza Saga.”
Goku and the Z Fighters enjoy a moment of peace after they defeat the terrifying jiggly demon Majin Buu. A universe away, the God of Destruction awakens and recalls a prophetic vision about a warrior who could challenge even him. We’ll see these two go head-to-head when Dragon Ball Super: Beerus premieres sometime in Fall 2026.

Akira Toriyama released the original Dragon Ball manga series from November 20th, 1984, to May 23rd, 1995. Shueisha published all 42 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump. Toei Animation’s anime adaptation premiered on February 26th, 1986. Beerus first appeared in the 2013 movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. Toyotaro has continued the series after Akira Toriyama’s passing.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Cast
Two proud Saiyan warriors and their newest foe are as follows:
- Son Goku — Masako Nozawa (Hisui from Pokémon the Movie: Everyone’s Story). Goku is a Saiyan raised on Earth who enjoys fighting strong opponents.
- Vegeta — Ryo Horikawa (Jered Gan from Log Horizon). Vegeta is the proud prince of all Saiyans.
- Beerus — Kouichi Yamadera (Gihren Zabi from Kidou Senshi Gundam: GQuuuuuuX). Beerus is Universe 7’s God of Destruction.

Destruction Awakens With Dragon Ball Super: Beerus
Several years have passed since Goku and the Z Fighters defeated the ancient monstrosity Majin Buu. The age of peace they expected to follow such an important victory didn’t last long. The terrifying God of Destruction Beerus awoke from his long slumber a universe away and planned to investigate a prophetic dream. The Oracle Fish foretold of the Super Saiyan God, a warrior who could match even a God of Destruction in battle.
Beerus interrogates Goku and King Kai about the Super Saiyan God, though neither knows what he’s talking about. Goku proves no match for him in a fight, even at Super Saiyan 3. As with all things in this series, Shenron is on hand to tell everyone what a Super Saiyan God is and even how to summon one to fight Beerus. While the Z Fighters watch two gods battle it out in space, an old foe casts his shadow over the universe once more.
