A real-world to otome isekai story is about to begin in The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen From Villainess to Savior (Higeki no Genkyou to Naru Saikyou Gedou Last Boss Joou wa Tami no Tame ni Tsukushimasu). A high school girl on the cusp of her college years is struck down, and her new life is set to hard mode. But she’s destined to suffer an even harsher ending.
This series is set to premiere sometime in July 2023. Until then, we have a trailer to enjoy.
OLM’s Team Yoshioka is working to adapt this vilainess to savior story. They have established a promotional home page as well as an official Twitter page to keep their fans and potential viewers up to date on new series announcements. They have also provided a couple of key visuals, as well as some character sheets.
Class Change from High School Student to Evil Princess
The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen From Villainess to Savior is an apt title for the story that’s being presented to us. A third-year high school student was just accepted to a junior college. While humming along her merry way to return home, and considering whether or not she wanted to replay a favorite otome game of hers, a car struck her, ending her life all too soon. The truck must have been off duty that day.
The girl found herself reborn into the world of that game, To a Beam of Light With You. As exciting as that might be, she was reborn as the title’s villainess, the evil and sadistic Pride Royal Ivy. Her crimes were numerous and heinous in nature, and her demise was celebrated in the game. The good news is that this Japanese girl has arrived in Pride’s life before her reign of tyranny. The more neutral news is that Pride is eight years old to start with.
Pride (voiced by Fairouz Ai) has certain advantages to aid in her plans to avert her terrible fate, such as her very clear memory of the game’s plot. She was addicted to the entire game series, and she had replayed this particular game numerous times, so she remembers every beat of the plot word for word. That, and Pride’s in-game power of precognition. Her goal is to make Pride’s original victims happy, such as her adopted brother Steyr (voiced by Maaya Uchida), and her younger sister, and the game’s true protagonist, Tiara (voiced by Haruka Tomatsu).
The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen From Villainess to Savior Origins
The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen From Villainess to Savior first put a fan in the role of the vilainess in the novel written by Tenichi. He began to post his novel to the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro on April 19th, 2018, where it continues to this day.
Ichijinsha acquired the publishing rights and hired the artist Suzunosuke to adapt the series to light novel form. This run of the series began on June 4th, 2019 in the Iris NEO imprint, with six volumes released thus far.
Ichijinsha has also seen fit to adapt The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen From Villainess to Savior to manga format, but the story here is a bit more tragic. Originally, the artist Bunko Matsuura was set to illustrate the series, and three volumes were published from March 19th, 2020 to March 18th, 2022 in the Zero-Sum Online magazine. Unfortunately, due to the artist’s failing health, that run was abruptly canceled. Both Zero-Sum and the original author Tenichi confirmed this back in 2022. Ichijinsha plans to continue the manga with a new serialization in some manner, but no plans have been revealed thus far.
For those seeking another cute and powerful princess, the J-List shop has what you need. The Princess Syalis Nendoroid Figure from Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle (Maou-jou de Oyasumi) is available now for pre-order. She comes complete with a Bear Devil and a pillow.
