The Misfit of Demon King Academy II is returning with Part 2 to continue Anos’s royal campaign. The Demon King has a lot of work to do after going away for 2,000 years. There’s no rest for the wicked, after all. We’ll be able to watch more of his epic battles on April 13th, 2024. Let’s enjoy the new trailer until then.
Shu posted the original The Misfit of Demon King Academy novel to the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro on April 2nd, 2017. ASCII Media Works took up publishing with the artist Yoshinori Shizuma attached to adapt the series to a light novel format. This run began on March 10th, 2018, with fourteen volumes published in the Dengeki Bunko imprint. The manga adaptation was concluded upon Kayaharuka’s untimely passing on July 6th, 2021.
The reborn Demon King and some of his cute friends are as follows:
- Anos Voldigoad — Yuichiro Umehara (Sekido from Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba). The legendary Demon King who ruled with an iron fist 2,000 years ago. He reincarnated himself into the present day as a half-demon.
- Misha Necron — Tomori Kusunoki (Rovian Kirishima from Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!). The first person Anos met when he arrived at the Demon King Academy. Though she is looked down upon by most of her own family, Anos holds her in high regard.
- Sasha Necron — Yuko Natsuyoshi (Cheval Grand from Uma Musume: Pretty Derby). Misha’s older twin sister and a direct descendant of the Elder Demon Emperor Ivis Necron. Despite her lofty position in the family, she still cares about her younger twin sister.

The Misfit of Demon King Academy Returns
The Misfit of Demon King Academy is a tale of death and rebirth. 2,000 years ago, humans and demons waged a terrible war. The Demon King and the legendary Hero struck a bargain to end the senseless bloodshed. Anos Voldigoad and Kanon sacrificed their lives to create an age of peace between their species. They would eventually return many years later.
Anos would be reborn 2,000 years later. He was reborn as a half-demon, a species that is looked down upon by Anos’s own full-demon kind. The level and quality of magic as a whole had also declined. Suffice it to say, Anos was unhappy with how his people had turned out after the age of peace he and Kanon had created. Thus began his campaign to regain his former title and glory.
