Welcome to the Shadow Garden
The Eminence in Shadow is an isekai series where a chuunibyou can credibly live out all his delusions of grandeur. Minoru Kageno is a regular, average Japanese high school student. However, he imagines himself as being so much more. A master of deception who rules from the shadows. Minoru trained himself to be in peak condition, all while he kept as low of a profile as possible. He would even take part in acts of vigilantism to continue his training. He defeated kidnappers and rescued a popular student named Akane Nishino.
Minoru’s most recent training regiment evidently prompted him to hit his head repeatedly, which led to a slight concussion. Consequently, he mistook headlights for floating specks of magic. This car accident resulted in his death.
Rather than dying a mortal’s death, Minoru was reborn as Cid into a new world. Cid was born to the noble Kageno family. They lived in the Midgar Kingdom and were known for developing dark knights. He retained his memories and skills from his previous life, which were added to the incredible magical abilities his new life afforded.
Cid spun tales of a nefarious cult that committed many grave misdeeds and that only his secret organization, the Shadow Garden, could stop it. He saved and recruited several powerful and attractive women to his group. They all believed his tales because the Cult of Diablos existed, really, as did the threat they presented to the world. It was fortunate then that Cid saw himself as a hero.
