In a land of superstition, a great doctor stands out. Crown Prince Keiun left the safety of the palace to investigate rumors of a doctor who used medicine and tools rather than prayer to heal the sick and wounded. Instead of a wizened, old man, he finds a cute, odd girl with incredible medical knowledge. Keiun tricks her and her assistant away to the capital as part of a scheme. We’ll see how the doctor performs when The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom (Gekkakoku Kiiden) premieres sometime in the future.

Tohru Himuka released the original The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom manga series on January 24th, 2018. Kadokawa Shoten has since published fifteen volumes in Asuka.
The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom Cast
The doctor, the prince, and the assistant are as follows:
- Koyou Hao — Rina Hidaka (Filo from The Rising of the Shield Hero). Koyou is a skilled physician with boundless curiosity and memory.
- Keiun — Takeo Otsuka (Aquamarine Hoshino from Oshi no Ko). Keiun is the Crown Prince of the Moonflower Kingdom.
- Shin / Shingdam — Taito Ban (Ton from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End). Shin is Koyou’s assistant and occasional bodyguard.

The Eccentric Doctor of the Moon Flower Kingdom is Ready for Surgery
The Moon Flower Kingdom’s Crown Prince Keiun is in dire need of a doctor. No, he’s not sick or anything. Not yet anyway. One of his father’s lovers aims to take his life so her son can take the throne. To that end, he wants to remove the power and influence of the Order of the Priests, those who use faith to tend wounds. Only a doctor can prove that the power of medicine is greater than the power of prayer.
Koyou Hao has studied her father’s work since she was a child and can now act as a skilled doctor. She proves her mettle by saving Keiun’s attendant, Shiei. After learning of the glory of goat’s milk, Keiun insists that he can pay Koyou’s medical fee once they arrive at the capital. He promised to pay twice her amount, though he never said “when” he would pay her for Shiei’s life-saving surgery. Keiun can’t let such a great doctor slip through his fingers so easily.
