It’s not easy being a demon lord capable of wiping out humanity, and no one knows that better than the protagonist of The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy (Seiken Gakuin no Makentsukai). After a war that saw his comrades fall, he sealed himself away, then was awoken as a kid by a pretty girl talking about “voids.”
There’s no confirmed premiere date for this series, so let’s make this trailer last a while.
Studio Passione, the fine people adapting this series to anime, have set up a promotional home page, and an official Twitter page to keep fans up to date as new announcements are made. They have also released a key visual to help get people excited.
An Undead King Reborn
The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy follows an enemy of humanity, the Undead King and Strongest of the Dark Lords, Leonis Magnus (voiced by Marina Inoue). A thousand years ago, the Six Dark Lords nearly wiped out humanity in a terrible war. They were eventually pushed back by the Six Heroes, until only one was left: Leonis himself. Finding himself in a weakened state, he pursued the path of immortality. He cast a resurrection spell and sealed himself beneath his capital of Necrozoa.
Leonis chose revitalization, to turn back the clock on his body to an earlier state. However, the spell went awry, and a thousand years later, when a group of human mages stumbled upon his mausoleum while investigating humanity’s newest adversaries, Leonis saw that he had become a ten-year-old child. Riselia Ray Crystalia (voiced by Yui Ishikawa) somehow unlocked the barrier around his chamber, and greeted him warmly. She informed him about the Voids, demon-like beings that attack humans. The humans of this age wield artificial artifacts, weapons that use artificial magic. Leonis will have much to learn as he carries out his old mission. Maybe he can enroll in a special academy that fights Voids.
If you’re in the market for more girls who fawn over demon lords, the J-List shop has you covered. Overlord‘s own Albedo has a new figure available at a discounted pre-order. The Albedo 1/7 Figure from Season 4 should turn a few heads.
