For those awaiting news on Bandai Namco’s newest mobile venture after it was reported that the game was delayed last year, then wait no longer! They’ve reported that the newest mobile game in the Tales series, Tales of Crestoria, will be released worldwide early this June. The fourth Tales series mobile title to be produced by Bandai Namco after Tales of Asteria, Tales of Link, and Tales of the Rays, the game promises to be yet another sweeping adventure supplemented by cameos from characters from past Tales mainline series, such as Velvet Crowe from Tales of Berseria and Milla Maxwell from Tales of Xillia.
The Tales series as a whole has been running with much darker themes in the past few years, and this game is no exception. The game’s main themes revolve around the concept of sin and follow a young man named Kanata, who must come to terms with his own beliefs on sin and the persecution of them when he is forced on the run and branded a criminal after committing a sin while protecting a friend.
Bandai Namco has also released a new English trailer for the game, as well as announcing an open beta test for the English version of the game coming early this month.

The game is being produced by Togomi Takawa, with Jun Kumagai on story outlines, and Wit Studio handling animation. The full cast of voices for the Japanese version had been released previously, with VA’s such as Yui Ishikawa (Attack on Titan, Nier: Automata) and Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Final Fantasy XV, Free!) on board. While the game supports both English and Japanese voice acting, there’s been no word yet on the English VA cast. While Bandai Namco’s track record with their mobile series hasn’t been the best, I’m curious to see how this iteration of the series will pan out.
