It’s always a good day when we get to reveal that a new original story anime is on the horizon, but it’s a better day when we get to reveal that the new series in question, The Marginal Service, is going to feature a healthy dose of man-service.
On Thursday, October 10th, a new website launched that announced Cygames (who were featured in the news recently thanks to their involvement with the Uma Musume franchise) will help to create an original anime titled The Marginal Service that will air in 2023. Along with that initial announcement, the staff revealed the series’ first promotional video and some details regarding the cast and crew.
While the promotional video uses a lot of bright colors and flashy visual effects, there sadly isn’t a ton of information regarding the story besides the tagline “The explosive debut of a bad new service!” What that means exactly is anyone’s guess at this point.
In terms of the staff and voice cast, what we do know is that there are some impressive names attached to this project. Studio 3Hz will produce the animation with Masayuki Sakoi serving as the director. He’ll be working alongside Kenta Ihara, who is writing the scripts, and Yoshio Kosakai, who is designing the characters.
Speaking of the characters, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the staff were kind enough to provide us with character names and a list of voice actors who will lend their voices to the series. The bad news is that they didn’t reveal which actor would play which role, which is unusual. If you didn’t catch the character names as they appeared in the promotional video, here they are again: Brian Nightraider, Zeno Stokes, Bolts Dexter, Robin Timbert, Lyra Candeyheart, Cyrus N. Kuca, Theodore Tompson, and finally Peck Desmond as the squirrel/mascot character.
As for who will bring these characters to life, here is the list of actors who are confirmed to be appearing in the series (again, we don’t know which character each actor is playing):
