Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199‘s (Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199) sixth chapter is beginning. The Yamato‘s legends are among the most iconic and influential space operas ever put to paper and screen, and now they’re going through time. The Dezariam Army launched its dark invasion of Earth two years after the annihilation of Garmillas and Iscandar. Susumu Kodai and his friends board their ship to defend the Earth once again. We’ll see how the battle is going when Chapter 6: The Azure Labyrinth (Aoi Meikyu) premieres on June 26th, 2026. The tagline for this chapter is: “Gather, at the Azure Labyrinth. It is a place where both lies or war are forgiven.”

Leiji Matsumoto, Yoshinobu Nishizaki, and Eiichi Yamamoto originally created the Space Battleship Yamato (Uchu Senkan Yamato) franchise. Academy Productions aired the series between October 6th, 1974, and March 30th, 1975. Akita Shoten published the manga adaptation between October 1st, 1974, and November 1st, 1979, in Boken O. Studio Mother’s anime remake premiered on July 19th, 2024.
Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 Cast
Three of the star sailing war heroes are as follows:
- Susumu Kodai — Daisuke Ono (Jotaro Kujo from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure). Susumu is the commanding officer of Space Battleship Yamato.
- Yuki Mori — Houko Kuwashima (Lauma from Genshin Impact). Yuki is an officer serving aboard the Yamato and Susumu’s fiancée. She discovers an unexpected connection to Princess Yurisha Iscandar.
- Isidor — Shun Horie (Amethio in Pokémon Horizons: The Series). Isidor is a Dezarian officer and Major Alfon’s Adjutant.

Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 Returns to the Past
The Dezariam Army showed its true colors and launched an invasion of Earth two years after the annihilation of Garmillas and Iscandar. Their secret weapon, the Ground Reverse, sails through the solar system and completely upends the Earth Defense Force’s best efforts to stop it from reaching their home planet. Thanks to their advanced technology and human sympathizers, the Dezariam’s occupation of Earth is a complete success. However, the crew of the Yamato and their allies refuse to give up.
The Dezarian officer Alfon explained to Yuki Mori that his people had time-traveled from the far future and were bioengineered humans. Yuki naturally refused to believe it, or their tale of trying to save the Earth from a spatial rupture. Susumu Kodai and the Yamato found themselves with a similar option: to use a space-time node to travel through time. Rather than the short-term past they expected, the Yamato ended up near 2026 Earth with a unique opportunity to change the history of war.
