There is finally an update on the promised SPY x FAMILY CODE: White movie. The series that brought us the cutest psychic in the world, plus one of the deadliest waifus in the world, will come to the big screen. We now have a trailer to watch Anya wielding a toy gun and a release date to pine for. The spy family’s mission will begin on December 22nd, 2023. For those new to the series who want to catch up, a home page has been maintained to promote SPY x FAMILY. That is in addition to an official Twitter page, where the trailer can be found, and a TikTok page. They have also announced a Street Fighter 6 collaboration with SPY x FAMILY CODE: White on Twitter. The Plan to Continue Operation Strix
SPY x FAMILY has a fun and James Bond-like plot to it. Westalian Intelligence has tasked one of their best agents, code name “Twilight,” to get close to a target who could interfere with their plans for a peace treaty. However, the target only makes appearances at a private school. He makes the alias Loid Forger and adopts a child named Anya. Later, Loid partners with a clerk at city hall, Yor, and the two wed. Unbeknownst to Loid but certainly known to the psychic Anya, Yor is an assassin.
The plot of SPY x FAMILY CODE: White deals with the current status of Operation Strix. Westalian Intelligence is considering shutting it down, but Loid is trying to keep it going. His plan is to prove the efficacy of the operation, so Anya must win a cooking competition at Eden Academy. The judge is from the Frigis region, and one of their local delicacies is the Melemele. The family takes a train there to find authentic ingredients.
Yor spots Loid talking to a mysterious woman on the train, generating some feelings of unease in her. Anya finds a key and a mysterious trunk. Rather than treasure, she finds chocolate she accidentally eats when the owner catches her. Unfortunately for those involved, her chocolate has a secret that could upset world peace. That will become the least of their worries during their family trip.
SPY x FAMILY CODE: White Origins
Tatsuya Endo began to write and illustrate SPY x FAMILY on March 25th, 2019. Shueisha has since released eleven volumes in the Jump Comics+ imprint and Shonen Jump+ magazine.
Wit Studio and CloverWorks began to adapt the series to anime format on April 9th, 2022. They have since released 25 episodes.
There is also a light novel adaptation, titled SPY x FAMILY Family Portrait, and a stage musical, simply Musical SPY x FAMILY, that fans might enjoy too.
