About a month ago, I reported here on the J-List Blog that the hit franchise That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime would join the likes of Higurashi, My Hero Academia, and many others by getting its own mobile game along with a promotional video which showed off a little bit of what to expect along with the news that the game will be released in Japan and the west before the end of the year.
On Tuesday, October 5th, Bandai Namco uploaded a four-minute-long English subtitled promotional video that goes in-depth on the battle system for the game but also the nation-building aspect, and let me tell you, this looks like a fun game!
In the west, the game will be known as That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Memories which is so much more preferable to the original title of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: The Saga of How the Demon Lord and Dragon Founded a Nation. No exact release date has been announced for the game, but as previously reported, an English language pre-registration website is already open.
It actually makes a great amount of sense to me for this series to venture into the mobile game world. Originally a light novel series, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is now up to eighteen volumes in Japan (Kodansha USA will release volume twelve in English later this month) with multiple manga spinoffs and a highly successful anime series that just concluded its second season and immediately announced a movie for late 2022.
I am already pre-registered for this game and am looking forward to checking it out on day one of its official release! If you’re a fan of the franchise, I encourage you to do the same so that we can all get that sweet starter loot!
