Shonen Jump Adds Demon Slayer to Character Maker App

As the modern cliche goes… ‘There’s an app for that’.

For the last couple of years, Shonen Jump has been doing a pretty good job of leading the charge towards legal online manga access. In 2018, they revolutionized online manga by making literally thousands of volumes available to subscribers around the world for the low price of $1.99 a month via their official app. In 2019, just for funsies, Shonen Jump launched a brand new Shonen Jump Maker app which allowed people from across the globe to create their own likeness in the style of Haikyuu! characters. Once that took off in popularity, they added My Hero Academia to the mix, and now, as of this week, the app has added Demon Slayer!

The app is very simple to use, even if it’s in Japanese. Navigate to the main site and scan the QR code. After you get to the actual maker site, you’ll want to hit the button at the bottom of the black and white art samples on the top half of the screen (it’s kind of hidden so you might have to do some searching before you find it). From there you can start creating your very own Demon Slayer character, going all the way from the hairstyle to the clothing that they wear. As far as I can tell though, the art style will only be available for a limited amount of time, so if you want to create your character and share it on social media, you should probably do it sooner rather than waiting for later.

The addition of Demon Slayer to the app is no mere coincidence, as it was recently announced that the hugely popular manga series has 100 million copies in print.
