Seitokai Yakuindomo Film Gives You a Condom Badge With Your Ticket

Raunchy humor is practically everywhere in anime. How many shows can you think of that feature a pervy character popping a nosebleed and trying to fondle some schoolgirl breasts, or an unsuspecting male protagonist “accidentally” tripping and landing with his face square in someone else’s crotch? Whether you’re watching a romance or an action series, pervy visual gags like these are all too common. Seitokai Yakuindomo is, on paper, another comedy series about Japanese highschoolers getting wrapped up in a variety of sexually humorous scenarios. What sets this anime apart from the others, though, is that rather than relying on the same old visual gags, Seitokai Yakuindomo instead delivers rapid-fire word-play and gut-punching dialogue all focused on wildly sexual jokes. The unique writing of the series has helped set it apart and make it a cult classic, and now, fans have a new entry in the series to look forward to in the form of a feature-length film sequel coming to Japan this summer.

The previously announced upcoming film sequel to the anime series based on Tozen Ujiie’s Seitokai Yakuindomo manga has had little information shared about it until now. A recent update to the movie’s official website gave fans a look at a new trailer, as well as the first poster visual for the film. The trailer is short and sweet, but manages to show off clips of the main cast engaging in that same old sexual absurdity that made the series so successful. The trailer also shows off the extremely wild ticket purchase bonus that fans get can if they attend the film. It’s a limited edition badge from a set of four, packaged inside of a condom-shaped pink plastic wrapper. The badge will be one of the letters “F”, “C”, “U”, or “K.”

The Seitokai Yakuindomo film is set to open in Japan on July 10th. It was also shared that Miho Okasaki will be joining the cast as Yu Hirose. She joins the following returning cast members from previous entries in the series:

  • Yoko Hikasa as Shino Amakusa
  • Sayuri Yahagi as Suzu Hagimura
  • Shintaro Asanuma as Takatoshi Tsuda
  • Satomi Sato as Aria Shichijou
  • Satomi Arai as Ranko Hata
  • Yuu Kobayashi as Naruko Yokoshima
  • Chiaki Omigawa as Mutsumi Mitsuba
  • Asami Shimoda as Kotomi Tsuda
  • Mutsumi Tamura as Sayaka Dejima
  • Emiri Katou as Kaede Igarashi

Hiromitsu Kanazawa will be returning as the director and script supervisor of the series, while Makoto Furuta will once again be handling character designs. Furuta will also be the chief animation director of the Seitokai Yakuindomo film. Ken Naito will be the art director, alongside color designer Ryusuke Araki and sound director Ryo Tanaka, with Yuya Mori serving as the composer for the film. Glovision is handling sound production alongside the music producer King Records.

A summary of the Seitokai Yakuindomo anime series, according to Crunchyroll:

Our story here circulates around the Osai Academy, formerly an all-girls private high school which has recently been integrated for both genders. Our protagonist, Takatoshi Tsuda, is pushed into becoming the vice-president of the student council, where he is the lone male member surrounded by three beautiful girls.

The first Seitokai Yakuindomo anime film premiered in Japan in July 2017 and managed to reach the top of Japanese mini-theater ranking charts for two consecutive weeks. HIDIVE started streaming the film in English on March 10th, and also streams the main television anime series the film is connected to.
