The goddess of rice and war has descended, and she’s not alone! Kokorowa is Sakuna’s frenemy of sorts. They are friends to an extent, but Kokorowa considers Sakuna’s slacker lifestyle at odds with her high position in the divine capital. This leads to resentment growing between them. However, their bond holds true when they face another fire in the capital and demons on Sakuna’s island. We’ll see where their adventures take them next when Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Kokorowa’s Rice Journal (Tensui no Sakuna-hime: Kokorowa Inasaku Nisshi) Part 1 premieres on February 15th, 2026, and Part 2 premieres on February 22nd, 2026.

Two Best Friends Farm in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Kokorowa’s Rice Journal
Sakuna is a highly ranked and overly praised goddess from the Lofty Realm’s Mitashira Capital. As the daughter of the war god Takeribi and the harvest goddess Toyohana, she not only inherits their powers but also the respect they gained from their fellow gods and goddesses. This has made Sakuna lax in her duties, putting her at odds with her friend, the goddess of inventions Kokorowa. A catastrophic run-in with a group of wandering humans left her banished from the Lofty Realm to her parents’ former island to care for the humans while using her mother’s farming power to grow crops and her father’s battle power to slay demons.

Kokorowa may be Sakuna’s friend, but they couldn’t be more different. Sakuna once preferred to live a lavish life, while others praised her for who her parents were. Kokora didn’t have such advantages, so she focused on her work and became a goddess of inventions. This deep-seated resentment continued during Sakuna’s banishment, when she sabotaged Sakuna’s rice sales. They would eventually reconcile and become true friends after having a heart-to-heart. Kokorowa now uses her keen mind and machinery to help Sakuna’s farm. A certain incident would kick off a new adventure for her there.
