A certain girl really likes shiny stones. After her attempt to buy a quartz necklace ends in failure, her Plan B is to follow in her grandfather’s footsteps and mine precious ores to make her own cute accessories. We’ll see what she crafts when Ruri no Hoseki (Ruri’s Jewels) premieres sometime in 2025.
Keiichiro Shibuya released the original Ruri no Hoseki manga series on August 10th, 2019. Enterbrain has since published five volumes in Harta.

The three miners are as follows:
- Ruri Tanigawa — Miyari Nemoto (Pikachu from Pokémon Evolutions). A girl whose love of shiny rocks led her to mining in the mountains.
- Nagi Arato — Asami Seto (Frill Shiranui from Oshi no Ko). A graduate student majoring in mineralogy. She uses a foreign-made warhammer to mine.
- Yoko Imari — Yume Miyamoto (Nika Nanaura in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). A fourth-year student who works with Nagi in the same mineralogy lab.
Studio Bind has maintained a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Ruri no Hoseki. You can find additional series information and Key Visuals there.

Hitting Bedrock with Ruri no Hoseki
Ruri Tanigawa loves shiny stones. It’s perhaps a trait she inherited from her grandfather. She recently found a pretty quartz necklace at a jewelry store. Unfortunately, it’s way out of her price range, and no one will offer to get it for her. Ruri’s mother informed her that her grandfather found quartz minerals in the mountains, so that’s where she headed. If she can’t buy shiny accessories, she’ll make them by hand!

Ruri met Nagi Arato, a graduate student who studies minerals for a living. Wielding a foreign-made warhammer, she shows Ruri where to find quartz. Along the way, Ruri learns more about Japan’s natural gem deposits. By the time she finds the shiny rocks she wants, Ruri becomes fully invested in learning more about mineralogy.
