Rick and Morty returns to the anime dimension. Alternate Smiths appeared in “Samurai & Shogun” Part 1 and Part 2, “Rick and Morty vs. Genocider,” “Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil),” and “The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara.” A new Smith family will take center stage later this year. The studio unveiled a trailer to show the Smith family in action. This is a follow-up to other trailers that featured the opening theme, Space Beth vs. Tammy, Rick drinking, many Ricks, and Space Morty.
Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon created the original Rick and Morty cartoon series. Adult Swim began airing the series on December 2nd, 2013.
Our titular sci-fi adventurers are as follows:
- Rick Sanchez — Yohei Tadano (Sebastian from Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens). A brilliant scientist who drowns his sorrows in alcohol and self-destructive tendencies.
- Morty Smith / Evil Morty — Keisuke Chiba (Cheerleader from Gundam Reconguista in G). A bright-eyed boy who wants to go on adventures with his grandpa Rick.
- Jerry Smith — Manabu Muraji (Homing Donquixote from One Piece). Morty’s father tries his best to be there for his family and survive Rick’s adventures.
Telecom Animation Film and Sola Entertainment are working to release Rick and Morty: The Anime sometime this year. Fans of the series can enjoy the new Key Visual that shows our title characters and one of Rick’s green portals.
Rick and Morty: The Anime Blows Stuff Up
The average and ordinary Smith family is typically swept up in the extraordinary and dangerous adventures of Rick Sanchez. His daughter Beth is a horse surgeon and his son-in-law has a hard time keeping a job. His grandkids Morty and Summer are high school students. This doesn’t prevent them from rising to the occasion and showing their heroic side in times of danger.
The Smith family will have their work cut out for them. Space Beth is set to take on Tammy, and heavily armed gang members will lay siege to the Smith household. As for why this happens, it’s probably something Rick did. His adventures are equal parts fun and life-threatening.
