Not many isekai protagonists would want to walk the path of the villainess. Those characters generally have a “bad ending” in their future. However, Rekishi ni Nokoru Akujo ni Naru zo: Akuyaku Reijo ni Naru hodo Oji no Dekiai wa Kasoku suru yo desu! (I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History: The More of a Villainess I Become, the More the Prince Will Dote on Me) has an unusual protagonist. She always preferred the villainess to the heroine in her favorite otome game. We’ll see just how truly evil she becomes when the series premieres sometime in October 2024. We can enjoy the new trailer until then.
Izumi Okido posted her original Rekishi ni Nokoru Akujo ni Naru zo novel to the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro on December 11th, 2018. Enterbrain obtained the publishing rights and hired the artist Jyun Hayase to adapt the series to a light novel format. This new run began on August 15th, 2019, in the B’s Log Bunko imprint. Five volumes have been published thus far.
Our villainess and the regal prince are as follows:
- Alicia Williams — Kanna Nakamura (Narita Top Road in Uma Musume: Pretty Derby). The isekai protagonist was reborn as the villainess. She aspires to go down as the evilest villainess in history.
- Duke Seeker — Kaito Ishikawa (Karaku from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). The emperor’s son. Despite her attempts to be a villainess, he continues to shower Alicia with affection.

A New Villainess Rises in Rekishi ni Nokoru Akujo ni Naru zo
Rekishi ni Nokoru Akujo ni Naru zo is a different take on the tried and true “girl gets isekaied into an otome world.” Yes, Truck-kun strikes again. A Japanese girl is reborn as the villainess of her favorite otome game. She actually prayed for it. The villainess, Alicia, seemed more relatable than the tale’s heroine. The heroine seemed too perfect for the girl. On the other hand, the villainess was far more interesting. And so, when Truck-kun and its sleepy driver struck her, she became Alicia.
Now reborn as her favorite character, Alicia set out to become the vilest villainess in history. She dedicated herself to learning as much as she could from books, which included mastering her dark elemental magic. Alicia also took up the sword. After all, a villainess should be a well-rounded combatant. Unfortunately for her plans, her “villainess” words have only endeared her to those around her. Her admirers include Prince Duke, who is supposed to marry the heroine.
