AoButa’s long-awaited second TV anime, Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus, revealed a new trailer and a July 2025 premiere. The AnimeJapan announcement also revealed additional information about the show’s soundtrack and cast.
Konomi Kohara (Urmander in Headhunted to Another World) is set to voice Sara Himeji. Manaka Iwami (Akane in Oshi no Ko) will act as the VA for Miori Mito. Conton Candy will perform the anime’s opening theme, “Snowdrop.”
Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus — Production Info
Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus is the thirteenth volume of the Rascal Does Not Dream light novel series. Hajime Kamoshida wrote the novel, and Keji Mizoguchi illustrated it. ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint published fifteen volumes of the AoButa series between April 2014 and October 2025. Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus will adapt AoButa’s University Arc, which begins in the tenth volume of the series.
CloverWorks has animated all the franchise’s TV anime and theatrical releases. The original Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai TV anime adapted the first five volumes of the light novel. Additional theatrical releases adapted the following volumes:
- Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl — Volumes 6 and 7
- Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out — Volume 8
- Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid — Volume 9
