Pole Princess!! is a CGI ONA series of short episodes a few minutes long. However, those few minutes consist of cute girls pole dancing, so it’s time well spent. While the series is listed as “ongoing,” already a movie is on the way. We’ll see cute anime girls pole dance sometime in winter 2023.
Until that glorious time comes, Tatsunoko Production has released a trailer to tide us over. The song presented is “Starlight Challenge,” which the main cast performs.

Dance Your Heart Out
Pole Princess!! follows Hinano Hoshikita (voiced by Rio Tsuchiya), a cute girl from a small town. Her regular life is disrupted when her grandmother announces that their planetarium will be closed. Hinano always enjoyed visiting the place. And it had been in her family for multiple generations. However, dwindling customer amounts necessitate a close if nothing changes.
Hinano consulted her friend Lilia Saijo (voiced by Anna Suzuki), who seemed more worried about the food. But neither could come up with a solution. The friends come upon a dazzling sight, a woman dancing around a pole high in the air. Hinano is struck by the idea of performing similar dances under the stars at the planetarium to gain more customers.
Lilia approaches the woman, Azumi Shino (voiced by Rie Kugimiya), to teach them how to pole dance. Azumi explains that she runs a pole dancing school but thinks about closing it down. Hinano can’t catch a break, can she?
Hinano and Lilia track Azumi to her school the following day. Azumi explains that she can’t afford to keep her school running and needs more paying students. Despite this setback, the girls are still eager to learn. Eventually, a team of four girls is assembled. This is just in time for the Pole Dance Grand Prix to be announced, where they might run into rivals, such as girls like Murafuji Sana (voiced by Rina Hidaka).
Pole Princess!! Origins
Pole Princess!! is an original CGI anime series animated by Tatsunoko Production and produced by Avex Pictures. It’s available to watch for free on YouTube. Hitomi Ezoe and Yoshihiro Otobe act as directions, with Otobe directing the CGI sequences. Touko Machida is the writer. Shūji Katayama and Kenta Higashiohji are music composers at Avex Pictures. The original character designs are provided by Tomari. KAORI of STUDIO TRANSFORM is the pole dancing supervisor. This might mean that the pole dancing shown in the series is actually realistic in some manner.
